Don't even need to get rid of the top 50. Just getting rid of the top 10 would change things drastically. It would get rid of Godfather I and II, Pulp Fiction, LOTR, Shawshank and Dark Knight. Those are some of the best competitors in the thing.

Yeah, I kind of just plucked that number out of my arse. But I think that just getting rid of the top 10 will still yield pretty predictable results between another 5 or 6 movies. The further down the list you go, the closer the field is going to become and make the result much less predictable.

But then again, if you go too far down, it becomes more of a best of the rest type competition anyway, so I'm not really sure what a good compromise would be. I mean, the idea of the game was to find POG's favourite movie, so I guess it worked fine as is, but I would think there has to be a more interesting way to do it where the end result isn't going to be as obvious.

i briefly had the thought to make a thread for each movie, and then we could rate the thread 1 star to 5 stars. and in the thread we could discuss the movie, but that would be too many threads.
