When the draft starts how many players are we drafting?

Nah, we mainly use it for chirping. When we set a time just make sure you can be available for the draft and then after that everything can be updated on your roster page on ESPN at your leisure

I'm literally only ever on Skype for my kids to talk to my parents...don't think I'll be doing much Skype trashtalking.

btw what is the format/scoring for this? for someone who has pretty much only done fantasy football before and has no idea how this works

Regarding scoring, skaters can earn you points in 5 ways:
G (Goals): 3 pts
A (Assists): 2 pts
PPP (Power play points): 1 pt
SHG (Short handed goal): 2 pts
SOG (Shots on goal): 0.25 pts

Goalies can also earn you points:
W (Wins): 5 pts
SO (Shutouts): 3 pts

You will be able to see this on the league page when you join

The league format is H2H (head to head). Every week, you will play against another pogger and every day may dress up to 9 forwards, 5 defense, 2 goalies and 1 utility (can be any position) leaving 5 players benched. This means we're drafting 22 players total.

Once your roster page is bookmarked, it's an easy process to dress players each day (or for each day a week ahead of time)

The fantasy cast page (which you'll also want to bookmark) shows scores easy as they happen realtime and you'll be able to follow how you're doing day to day and week to week

It doesn't matter a whole lot, but this will be the randed list for East/West divisions (with me at top because as creator I think that's static). I think it only matters for "playoffs"

seems like there should be something for saves/goals allowed for goalies

maybe subtraction for penalties for skaters

but idk what the standard is

Sorry I did forget to mention Goalies also have GA (goals against): -0.5 pts so in a way that is a standard for SV%

Penalty minutes is an option but not really standard

maybe it should also be like .1 for save or something so that losing goalies aren't -ev. otherwise you'd basically only want to play a goalie if they're favored right?

also how are shootout goals scored?

It's true, last year goalies weren't big point earners but the point is you still have to draft 1-2 (and I think dress 1) so you're still forced to draft and play good goalies.

But I can add pts for saves if everyone wants

shootout goals don't count iirc. OT goals do though

Sounds like the point earners are the greedy shooters, with .25 per SOG

Last year it was certainly G, A and PPP that put in the work.

Consider that the best players will have great games with 7-10 shots if they're lucky, so you're looking at only a couple pts a game.

Add to the fact that statistically defencemen get more SOG than forwards, but correspondingly get less G, I think it evens out
