Bigger, does the new job count towards the same pension salary or no?
No. But contract positions often lead to permanent positions and the place I'll be contracting at would qualify.
how much does saving the extra 40% help things, I assume considerably.
It would help considerably with some things that I need to get in place before I retire. Paying my house off and getting a lot of work done on it. The house is a huge retirement gem for me. It's in a neighborhood that has never experienced any decline in real estate values as long as I've been there.

Yeah, if this was a permanent position and I could maintain my pension it would be a no-brainer for sure. But it isn't.
I'm pretty sure after thinking about it that I'll take it if I can get it. It won't open until after the end of the month but I'm pretty sure I have a very good shot at it.
