When you do something creative, do you feel like it is not good enough? If so, how do you resolve that feeling vs. telling yourself it's ok to go with it.

yea WN, the idea of these threads were to be incredibly hate-free. (friendly trolling is ok) so feel free to be strict

Good call on Anthony Jeselnik, I never heard of him before but I love his stuff now.

How many of the Best Picture Oscar nominees have you seen thus far?

Can you rank them?

My favorites of the last 4 years: Nightcrawler (2014), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire tied with Rush (2013), Life of Pi (2012), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011).

My least favorite movie ever is... Transformers 2 probably. I watched it in the cinema, fell asleep. Tried watching it once more at some point, fell asleep again. It's just horribly boring watching a ton of robotic parts smash up against each other in the screen - it gets very tedious. I'm trying to think of others, but that's really just the only one that comes to mind.
But but... Robot testicles

Interesting question.

I do honestly rely very much on feedback from my friends. So in that sense I need others to reaffirm that my creative ideas are good enough. I will most often be confident that the general concept is good enough (whether it be an idea for a joke or an idea for a script), but I feel like details of it can always be improved. I don't feel confident in my ability to perfect things on my own.

I'm not sure that completely answers your question wrt how I resolve feeling like something is not good enough. I guess I don't struggle with it much because if I genuinely feel like something is not good enough then I just discard it and that's not a big deal to me because I have many different ideas and many different interests, so I can just focus on something else that I enjoy. Hmm... I guess you're asking about a scenario where you're doubting yourself and not sure if you're willing to throw your creative product or idea out there for the world to see and maybe reject? I think I just deal with that by thinking that creative processes are exactly that - processes. And believing that I can eventually get there.

Because I haven't had time to watch any movies in the cinema this month (which is about when most of these come out in Denmark) I've only seen Boyhood and The Grand Budapest Hotel out of the Best Pic nominees. They are probably both 10/10's for me to be honest, but I prefer Boyhood. Nightcrawler is better than both of those though and it's a crime that it wasn't nominated (and especially that Gyllenhaal wasn't nominated).

Be involved with a The Genius forum game in some way

And one that is no longer feasible due to bad luck: Win the 2015 Box Office draft.

Also random question, what was that lion(?) costume avatar thing about that you had for a while?

It was Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter.

I chose it partly because I like her (I generally like quirky characters) and partly because the lion is my favorite animal.
