12. Qxd3 looks much more natural than what I've played, but in this position and with this pawn structure, I feel like my natural plan is the e3-e4 breakthrough, so the knight probably belongs in f2 via d3. Hence I do not want to occupy the d3 square with my Queen. The plan looks quite slow but I think I can afford to lose these tempi.
Edit: Of course, there was the option to play 12. Qxd3 Nbd7 13. f4 and go all out on his king, but then 11. f3 is a waste of time! I know this is sunk cost fallacy thinking, but I also want to stick with my original plan, which is the e4 breakthrough, the e4-e5 push, and THEN go all out on his king
i) He has a sudden engagement that prevents him from completing this game. I have received no communications from gambit about this, though.
ii) Resigning on chess.com requires confirmation, both in the desktop and the mobile version. This means that a misclick resignation is extremely unlikely.
Hence, the resignation will stand. Which is a shame, because I was looking forward to rail this game.
..imo ianaww has to play on here. it's entirely conceivable that rtspurs wanders into the POG Politics thread, is aghast, insta-tilts and snap-resigns his chess game. I mean the probability of that is surely .350 ...amirite?
