I think I am close to resigning. I should not have been trying to play chess during one of the most stressful weeks of my life (accepted a bid on my flat, had an offer accepted on another property).

I don't know what has lost me more sleep, the property thing or 10. Be3

I can't recall the last time a single move has made more of a mess for me early game.

The diagram I just posted is wrong, I edited it right away, but reposting it for emphasis just in case:

.

Namely, rtspurs' King is in f8, not in g8. My apologies.

Spoiler:
31. ...Ke8 seemed to offer more resistance, because after 32. Qe5+ Kf8 33. Qd6+ Ke8 I cannot take in h6 because Black can take my Bishop with 34. ...Qc5.

For kibitzers:

Now, otoh, it appears I'm a piece up.

16. Nce4 f5
17. Ng3 Qb6
18. Qh5 g6

For Kibitzers:

Spoiler:
So obviously Qh5 threatens Qxe8 as my rook is presently hanging. I think the only two moves here to consider at 18...Bd7 and 18...g6.

18...Qd8 is also a possibility, but retreating my queen and giving my opponent some breathing room by relinquishing the threats my Queen poses can't possibly be the correct line.

Spoiler:
18...Bd7

My light squared bishop remains untouched 17 moves in, which thankfully is a luxury I have been afforded thanks to winning a piece early on.

Using it now to protect the rook on e8 does connect my rooks and somewhat develops my lone remaining undeveloped minor piece. The clear drawback of this however is that my bishop now closes off the D-file. With no immediate ideas of moving my knight or e5 pushes, the d7 bishop will sit there for some time rendering any immediate ideas of Rad8 to occupy the semi open D-File useless.

Rad8 followed by returning the Bisop to c8 seems eventually reach a nice position I am just fearful that it might be too slow and I'll get stuck with a clunky position and that the Queen on h5 may continue to cause problems.

Spoiler:
18...g6

This move worries me for the simple fact that I'm often caught for over extending my King side defence and sometimes struggle in evaluating lines which involve my opponents making sacrifices in order to expose my king.

Luckily in this position I see no good square for my opponents queen to continue to threaten. Qh6 doesn't appear threatening because white doesn't seem to be able to get any of his other pieces in on the attack. The Bishop on e7 is covering the g5 square from any future ideas of white placing a knight there and the rooks appear to be much too slow.

All that to say that I think 18...g6 forces 19. Qf3 which can only be good for me by forcing White to retreat as I aim to improve my attack.

I am yet to check the game with the engine but I doubt you had a forced win anywhere.

BTW, here's what I had ready for 23. ...g4, which I thought was your best move in that position:

24. Bg3 Qg5 25. f4 Qf6 (25. ...Qg7 26. f5 exf5 27. Bh4

wins the exchange, but not 26. Bh4 Nf6! 27. e5? Bc2! and I get rekt instead

)

26. f5 exf5 27. e5

.

I give the Pawn back but bury the Bishop in h7. Would have been a fun position to play.

Try downloading ChessBase Reader 2013, a free software. It should have Fritz 11 available. Think you need to click on "Add Engine" after you open a chessboard -I am not sure what is the exact wording because I have the Italian version.
