Question 2: 12 people are seated around a round table. Each of them is either a Mathematician (mathematicians always tell the truth) or an Astrologist (an astrologist may tell the truth or may lie).
Each of this dozen makes the following statement: “One of my neighbours at this table is a Mathematician, and the other one is an Astrologist”. By neighbours I mean people that sit at the right or the left hand of the speaker.

Given these circumstances, what is the biggest possible number of Mathematicians that is present at this table? And what is the biggest possible number of Astrologists that is present at this table?

Alice came across the Lion and the Unicorn in the Forest of Forgetfulness. She knows that the Lion lies on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but tells the truth on every other day. The Unicorn lies on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and tells the truth on every other day. Here’s what they told Alice:

Lion: Yesterday I was lying.
Unicorn: So was I.

On which day did they say that?

Question 4: Someone was reading a newspaper and stumbled upon an article that said that 3 of the first 5 Presidents of the United States (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe) died on the 4th of July. The reader immediately said that although he did had no previous knowledge on the date of death of any of them, he was ready to guess correctly the name of at least of one of the three Presidents that died on the 4th of July. Name the president whose date of death he was so sure about and explain the reason of his certainty.

Everyone has answered.

Answer: James Monroe. Had Monroe not died on the 4th of July, the article would have said “3 of the first 4 Presidents died on the 4th of July" (and not 3 of the first 5).

Only one of you answered correctly. The event is over, and the winner will get the prize in short time. Everyone may get back to the game thread.

Picks up ball and throws it at Chris Pine

RULES:

I will rand 3 teams of three:

BLUE
RED
PURPLE

Will be played in rounds

When the game starts I will post "BALL" + a modifier (ie even, odd, 0-4, 5-9) ITT

Each player needs to post "Pick Up" (or something to that effect) ITT.


The first person to post on the same master number as the modifier picks the ball up.

IE: I post BALL and EVEN

The first person to post “Pick up” (or similar) on an EVEN numbered master post will receive that ball.

I will do that three separate times.

DO NOT THROW YOUR BALL UNTIL I TELL YOU TO OR ELSE YOU WILL LOSE IT

You can only hold 1 ball at a time.


Once the three balls are picked up, I will announce the start of the round.

Each round will last 2 minutes.

The people with the balls have to pick a team color to throw it at and post an ODD OR EVEN modifier.

The team that the ball is thrown at have to post "dodge" OR "catch" within 1 minute.

Example:

I have the ball and post "throw at BLUE team ODD"

If a BLUE team member posts "Dodge" in an even number they dodge.
If a BLUE team member posts "Dodge"in an odd number they get hit and are eliminated.
If they post "Catch" in an Odd number they catch it and the person throwing it is out.
If they post "Catch" in an even number they are hit and are eliminated.

IF ALL OF THE TEAM MEMBERS POST THE SAME ACTION THEY COLLIDE AND ONE IS AUTOMATICALLY ELIMINATED. (Obv if only one person left this does not apply)

Multiple balls can be thrown at the same team, but only one person will be eliminated per round. It will be whomever is the SLOWEST to post.

Once everyone that has a ball throws it, the round is over and I will figure out who is eliminated.

If you eliminate someone that has a ball before they throw it, their throw will still count.

After each ball is thrown, the teams that were thrown at have possession of the ball. The team members can decide who wants to throw it next.

If all of that team is knocked out, we will drop that ball(those balls) that were thrown at them again.

I will then post “ROUND 2” or whatever round it is.


Any outside chat or chat in the main thread while in this event is forbidden.

Any spamming of pictures or gifs or things of that nature are also forbidden.

You are allowed to talk strategy to your teammates and other players
