Welcome to the first POG Hearthstone tournament
This is a 25-player tournament played in two stages:
Seeding
- Players are randomly divided into five pools of 5 players
- Players will play one game against each player in their pool (for 4 games total)
- Players earn 1 point for a win, and 0 points for a loss.
- After all seeding matches are complete, players are ranked based on their score
- Tie-breakers are determined based on which pool you are in (pool A > pool B)
- Players have until 8pm ET on Wednesday, May 22 to complete their seeding matches
Tournament Bracket
- Players are entered into the tournament bracket based on their seeding score
- Players play a best of 5 head-to-head series against their opponent
Tournament Rules
1) All decks must be comprised entirely out of
Basic cards. You can find your
Basic cards by filtering the
Basic set in your collection, or by using the keyword "Basic". They can also be visually identified by the lack of a white, blue, purple or yellow crystal in the middle of the card.
2) During Tournament Bracket matches, you cannot use the same Hero/Class more than once during a single head-to-head match. This means you will need to prepare a minimum of 3 decks and a maximum of 5 (or more if you want more variety) during a single match. If you move on to another opponent, you may reuse Heroes/Classes from the previous match. This rule does not apply for seeding matches. You may use a Hero/Class any number of times.
If you play against an opponent who has non-Basic cards in his deck, or plays the same Hero/Class more than once during one of your tournament bracket matches, please report him/her to the game Mod.
Game Scheduling
During seeding matches, please try your best to get your games scheduled with your opponents. If it is truly impossible for you to play a certain opponent due to time zones, scheduling etc., please let the game Mod know and a solution will be found.
Reporting Wins
It is the responsibility of the winner of seeding matches to report the results in this thread. (Although the loser can as well) Otherwise there is no way for me to track results and the tournament cannot progress. Anything from "
just won my match against xxx" to "
lost every match in my group except against xxx" is fine.
Disconnections
If you happen to time out of battlenet during a game or you cannot finish for emergency situations, games can be made up. Please discuss with your opponent and reschedule at your convenience. Your opponent has the right to deny the rescheduling request for good reasons. Please do not abuse this rule.
