You need 25 wins in a row to win $80,000
You get $20k for longest streak and $60k stash cuz it rollover from May.
May winner got $20k with 24 Ws
He needed one more to either lose it all of triple his 20k lol. He didn't take a chance
What would you do?

Calculate the odds of getting 25 wins in a row?

I bet they're less than 1%

Yes. Is not easy. But doable since you are choosing which bets you want to take.

Ex. You see
Yankees will win
Red Sox will win

I'm gonna pass that up unless one of the pitchers is a mega ace against a hurt team and bad pitcher.

But then I see
Red Sox win
Washington win

I'm all in on red sox. My odds there are a huge favorite.

My pick just now was USA soccer wins
Turkey or so,e other weak team wins

Obv I pick USA there.
You can see the % of ppl picking. This one was 87% USA 13% turkey

I got up to 16 once and got a t-shirt for it (think 13 was needed for the shirt). People don't believe me my "Let's go $treaking" shirt is from ESPN until I show them the ESPN logo on the back.

I kinda assumed that as well, but I've just finished watching Alt-Conn and I really don't think so.

Also, wiki has Chiney Ogwumike - who's a post player - as 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m), 174 lb (79 kg). Does she even lift? Are those stats garbage? What gives?

But it's hard to compare women body to men. Specially after evolution has in the past favored to men having to be stronger and the hunter etc.
I think as we progress and time passes some women will also start to be bigger, stronger etc. I see a lot of wnba players in 20 years able to dunk like nothing
Just think for comparison.
An athlete 100 years ago and now.

Just think of fat babe Ruth or many other great athlete who will never fit in nowadays.
Think of football players 60 years ago and then think of RBs at 260lb of pure muscle like a wrecking ball

Been playing this for years... Got 13 twice and my mother had 19 once. I usually make a half hearted attempt at the monthly befor oversleeping one weekend and blowing it. This month my phone didn't give me notifications so. I already missed like 4 picks... Will try and join the group

Exactly why I made this kaze. I forget about it so I might do like a pick a day or a few a week lol. Hopefully with the added incentive of winning against you guys I'll play more often.
Plus I'll be reminded in the forum.
My phone is weird cuz sometimes it tells me but other times it wont

eh - this is turning, unintentionally, into a bit of a hi-jack of your thread. So - meh - ... sorry ... ?

Whilst I'm still in the abstract - explain the game to me a bit more: if we start, e.g. randomly choosing baseball games for some +/- 1/2 game streaks can we hope to start our real choices at, eg, + 3? Is that ok? Or do we have to be perfect for the month?

I agree with some of what you said (but not all), but that point doesn't really go to my thoughts on the game I watched. As soon as I tuned in - maybe half way through the first half - there were missed uncontested lay-ups, shovels under not much pressure which obviously had no hope of going in, a defender right under the hoop - in the 'no charge zone' - fouling in a 3-on-1 situation etc etc. I actually thought it was really depressing. And there's no excuse because they've all effectively been pros through 4 years of college at least.

This is a weird one for me - because (even tho' I've seen only a little of them) it's pretty clear that Chiney and Nneke really do 'have [pretty decent] game'. (Nneke is listed as 6'2" and 172lb.)

I wonder whether those weight stats are 'fixed' downwards - in the way that small male pro bballer-s heights are traditionally fixed up - for ideological reasons. That would be really sad imo.

fwiw point guards that height in the NBA are around the 200lb mark.

yeah ... no .. mebbe.

It looks like there are more tall people in the US - at overall cut-off levels (it's kinda pointless to think about averages what with immigration etc). Globally we don't seem to be doing anything at all useful - in the last 20 years - in terms of having cohorts able to challenge the men's or women's high jump records - this just seems to be down to freak individuals. Blanka Vlašić GOAT (An obvious claim is that those cohorts 20 years ago depended on PEDs which are now detected - but I actually don't believe in that having such an effect for HJ. The long jump records are another story, obviously.)

For now women dunking seems similar. fwiw I would love that to be different - it would certainly enliven the WNBA from what I saw tonight.

No - I don't believe in any of that. Babe Ruth would be absolutely fine if he turned up today. The point of baseball, at least, is that all body shapes are possible. (Well, for batters/catchers - arm speed is key for pitchers I suppose?.) ditto cricket. Obviously you can try to tell the Inzamam-ul-haq's of the world that they would be even better if thinner, but gl with that.
