It's obv fine to pick someone when he won't be around for your next pick, it doesn't contradict the statement that he went too high though

I think there's a huge pool of 1st round picks, only separated by tiny tiny amounts if at all, so much so that where someone goes is largely influenced by personal opinion than actual filmography/awards/critical acclaim.

I imagine this will still be happening well into the 4th round, maybe 5th.

Tarantino is who I was referring to here

I mean he is my fav director/screenwriter of all time. The guy is just the absolute nuts. But I have no idea where to value him in this format.

I told traz I think there's one director who will pretty much be guranteed to go too high value wise but I can't even fault whoever takes him.
Was talking about Tarantino of course eventhough I kinda expected him to go early to mid 2nd round (and that's too high for him imo)

Our shortlist was Hitchcock, unnamed, Hanks. I think unnamed could drop to our second pick

Hitchcock was my #3 after Disney and Spielberg. Would love to see what Hitch would do with the new 3d technology.

Same here, I think the aspect I love most about him is that he innovated and constantly tried to find new ways to get his ideas done (vertigo shot etc.). Would really be interesting to see him work in this age/see what he'd have come up with

I'll say that I agree with your artistic evaluation of talent

Also: I PMed legend

Yeah I was flip-flopping quite a bit between him and Cameron when doing my bigboard but I think ultimately I'm ranking Hitchcock a notch higher simply because he's more "legendary". There's one other guy I'd put into this "innovator" class but he'll go a little lower imo

How many more films (assuming same quality as his work already) does Tarantino have to make to equal Kubrick? 1? 2? more?
