Re: Movie Character Draft

With the 1st overall pick in the 2012 POG Movie Character draft Sblum2711 selects...

The one and only John McClane. IMO the most badass regular old human American cinema has ever seen. From single handily taking down Hans Gruber and his goons in the Nakotomi building to figuring out the genius plans of Simon; John McClane is an American hero. He's provided us with the classic send off line of Yippee-kahya mother****er and delivered one of my favorite lines in movie history... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4Vxs2pXSPc

The man is always hungover and still manages to always ruin some german bad gays day. I know this pick may be a slight reach but I couldn't have this American badass hero not on my squad.

Re: Movie Character Draft

Nice. I didn't think he'd be first to go, but he's an obvious first rounder and there's almost no way he would've made it back to you, so I can't fault the pick.

Re: Movie Character Draft

With the second pick in the draft, I select James Bond.

James Bond

"Bond. James Bond."

Iam Fleming's debonair spy is not only a film icon; he might be the the icon of the British film industry. Here's how big a deal he is culturally: in the 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony, the character appeared as the bodyguard for the Queen. The star of twenty-two films in the second highest-grossing film franchise ever, Agent 007 has defined the secret agent/spy genre and influenced countless other movies and characters.

The legendary (if perhaps a touch sexist) charm of James Bond, established early in the series by his portrayal by Scottish heartthrob Sean Connery, the first of six actors to play the character. But who can complain about the phenomenon of the Bond Girl?

http://www.jamesbondwiki.com/page/Bond+Girls

Bond's serial womanizing, martini-drinking ("shaken, not stirred"), and high-stakes gambling may serve to obscure his overall status as a badass. But the man with a License to Kill Bond was more than a ladies' man:

In sum, I'm happy to have one of the greatest characters in film on my team.

Re: Movie Character Draft

Thingy and I have made a trade.

We swap picks in this round. I get his second round pick and he gets my 3rd round pick.
