ITG, we predict which 2011 upcoming movies will make bank at the box office this year. The winner will be determined in January 2012 based on Box Office Mojo's Yearly US Domestic Box Office Chart
(2010's is here:
http://boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=2010&p=.htm)
We'll run this like a draft, likely reverse snake, standard draft rules, etc. The only difference is that there will be an objective ranking in this draft, albeit delayed 9 months.
Criteria: You may only pick a movie that has not yet released
(we can use box office mojo; link for 3/14 releases on bom:
http://boxofficemojo.com/schedule/?v...weeks=4&p=.htm)
Points:
Main: Your score is the domestic gross according to the box office chart
Pity: If your movie doesn't make the box office mojo 2011 top 150 list when we tabulate in January, then we'll give it 27,000,000 points as long as it was out for at least 6 weeks in 2011 in at least 500 theaters for 3 of those according to the box office mojo movie page

Bonus:
1. Leader as of 5/27 will get 50,000,000 bonus points; 2nd place at that time will get 27,000,000 bonus points
2. Whomever has the 27th place film (if anyone) will get 27,000,000 bonus points
3. Whomever has the film that makes the least while still charting in the top 150 will get a 27,000,000 bonus point boost
4. Whomever has the latest release in the year that breaks $100,000,000 will get 27,000,000 bonus points; points split if a tie
5. Whomever has the film released prior to 5/25 that makes the most revenue by year end will get 27,000,000 bonus points
This will also be a place for people to see what major films are slated to come out this year, so you should post a writeup with current expected release date (month/season) and who is in it, what's it's about, etc; or at least a link to an info page for it so people can go learn about the movie
Same rules as normal; no talking about undrafteds, pm next player after you post, etc
Someone will need to create public spreadsheet in google docs for this.
We'll cap this at 10 teams each drafting 10 movies for now, but we'll start if we get to 7 teams; 70-100 movies is a good range to draft since only top 150 chart and we've already missed 2 months of movies
box office mojo already has over 250 movies on their release schedule slated for 2011:
