You are meant to know the answer on 1 v 100 because you can only pick one of them.

You are not usually meant to know the answer in this game because you can select all but one of them. You are meant to eliminate at least one through a process of elimination and then hedge your money on the other ones in a ratio of how confident you are with each answer.

For example you might know 1 of these flags. If you're lucky then that's $1M through to the next round but you're through to the next round anyway. You might spot trends in African flags, or have a vague recollection about some opening Olympic ceremony that gives you an idea.

Have you guys seen this show on TV? People rarely leave with any money at all, it's meant to be hard.

Also as a side note I have had various rules broken so far.

-Not betting all the money
-Not splitting money in multiples of $25,000
-Not leaving one of the options clear

(One guy who shall remain nameless broke 2 of these)

Great question. I assume that the next question will be similarly difficult, but not in my wheelhouse category, so I'll have to do some process of elimination.

Lol, my reasoning for this one was that I have no ****ing idea about any of those 4 flags. And that Malawi seemed as reasonable as any to leave blank. And that Kyrgyzstan seemed marginally less likely to me to not have any red, for a reason that I'm not quite sure of anymore.
