Scoring will be simple. 1pt for last, 10 for first (there's no 9), plus any random bonus points I decide to add on. I intend to do one category per day for the next 10 days but I may have to miss the odd day due to such important things as doing what my wife tells me to do. I'm under the thumb, obviously.

Reveals will generally be around 8pm BST because, well, I'm in the UK and I work, plus I like to sleep more than 4hrs a night so 8PM EST reveals are a no-go, sadly :P

As we only have 9 players, I won't bother with podium/anti-podium unless people really want it in later rounds...

I'm sorry, I really didn't like this. It was just too slow and dark for what originally was a nice, upbeat song. Plus apart from the last chorus it wasn't very metal at all...more emo tbh! When you watch the video the lead singer just looks bored throughout, and by the end I felt the same.

To be fair, apart from Slothrust, I liked all the submissions from here on in for this category, so it was hard to choose which came 8th and which came 1st. (REDACTED) is a good song and this version gives it a lot more oomph, but just not enough. Either way, I'll listen to it again, and I actually hadn't heard much (REDACTED) so I will add them to my Spotify playlist!

This would have been placed higher if it wasn't for the small minor issue of not being able to understand a word of it because I don't speak the language! Having listened to the original, the cover sounds a hell of a lot better, so thank you. I generally like metal from (REDACTED COUNTRIES) but prefer songs in my native language. Thank you for the submission though, it is well worth a listen.

somewhere round about 8-12 is a good number for walruses imo. reveal time also good

Any of the songs from 2nd to 6th could theoretically interchange, but I went for this in 6th in the end because I hated the original and as such, this doesn't appeal as much as the others. It fits the category very well though, and is death metal which is always a bonus!
