In this game the village will be fighting evil Vampires, nasty enchantments and swarms of bats using their cards, mana and WIM.

The awesomeness will start May 22nd. Day will be 08:00-21:00 EST. There are two important Main Phases, planned at 10:30 EST and 17:30 EST. You only need to play one, really. Missing both is BAD.

As usual, a new MtG expansion features a new pre-release card:



This card is like a swiss army knife and provides several utilities at extremely efficient cost.
For a mere white mana, you keep bats at bay for the rest of the game.
Drawing two cards for one blue mana can only be outperfomed by Ancestral Recall.
For a black mana you can deal serious damage to the hand of a player and for only one red, you deal a whopping 4 damage to that same or any other player.
Finally, those bats are very annoying, for one green mana you can take one out of the game.

The card requires a heavy investment of one of the most precious resources in the game: colored mana. But in return, you get a sure bang for your buck!

Unfortunately I cannot create the game thread yet, because I've lost control of the Richard Garfield account and I hope to fix that before the game starts.

NEW THINGS IN THIS GAME, FOR THOSE WHO PLAYED BEFORE:

• Venomtouch is back. If a creature/player with Venomtouch deals combat damage, the defending player receives a poison counter. Two poison counters result in DEATH.
• Besides the standard (fairly boring) attack in which two players deal eachother damage, there is a new kind of attack: Arena Attack. This attack subjects BOTH players to a deathrand equal to: [Power of opponent]/([toughness of the player] - [damage he carries]). So if a 10-toughness player carrying 6 damage is arena attacked by a player with power=2, (s)he has 50% to die. An Arena attack does not deal damage. When you attack you must choose between your standard Attack and the Arena Attack.
• A new ability is Flying. It does exactly one thing. When a non-flying player Arena attacks a flying player, the attack will fail. Flying does not help vs normal attacks.
