Re: Lord of the Rings 2 - Game Thread
Sup thread? Lunch-posting from school right now, so I will be behind for a while. For reference, I am writing this post from the bottom of page 2.
Here are my catchup thoughts thus far:
50 post limit is wolf-friendly because it gives them an excuse not to participate as much as otherwise. I think people carelessly burning through their limit should be the initial suspects.

I don't think wolf Larry would tunnel on villager Gad this early.
Is a D1 bus like this in Larry's range?

The Anarchist wagon is sketchy. The only reasons I have seen are - "last game he said 'lynch me next time if I'm lying' as a wolf" and "he lives too long as a wolf". Neither of these make him a wolf this game. The village should be trying to find/lynch wolves, not acting out of spite/grudgery.

Would it be safe for us to assume that the wolves can't communicate right away (seems to be the trend in recent MMs)?
How would this assumption help the village if right? Harm the village if wrong?

no n0 actions... I do think this is +v for WN, though, because I don't think a wolf would use language as strong as "guaranteed" this early.
I'll post again from the bottom of page 3.

Re: Lord of the Rings 2 - Game Thread
this is my 20th post!
votes on loretta are misguided, and from fairly strong players to boot, so i think collectively this group is taking the thread in the wrong direction
i do get the feeling wolves are keeping a fairly low profile right now, still need to hear more from some players before i am ready to push anyone strongly but i am thinking of drumming up some serious friction and interactions
30 posts limit could be a problem if i got that route though
alice! why am i not able to clear you yet

probably not a good idea considering that I won't really have that much time for this game, especially after today it will be harder for me

Re: Lord of the Rings 2 - Game Thread
b/c I think you're making way too much out of bigger's comment and bigger's comment fits well into how I view him as a villager.
You are giving villager points to WN for reasoning which I disagree with.

Re: Lord of the Rings 2 - Game Thread
few notes from my phone skimming earlier:
re: thingy -
i dont think what thingy did was villagery, mostly bc i place an almost zero chance of it being possible that someone forgets that they've opened a role pm an hour earlier. therefore, i find it odd that so many people are saying "..well, it's villagery, bc you'd only forget your role if it was a villager role" - - like completely bypassing the likelihood that you forget ANY role pm so quickly (unlikely imo)
i felt like thingy said something stupid in his opener (forgot i was in the game), and then when pressed on it, had to admit something even more stupid (i read the role pm before, but forgot about it). in his defense: his quick post today felt a little more natural (kinda angry, kinda eyerollish). BUT:
i think he's still creepy by way of the people who quickly defended/excused him. namely filthy.
filthy had a weird post about first finding thingy villa, then neutral. all before getting ot the post where thingy admits to reading hte pm first. then after that post, finds him more villagery, under the "you would only forget your pm if you're vanilla" theory. which is such a ****ed up theory to me
Q: do people really think it's possible to forget that you read a role pm?
--------------------------------------
re: krayz
agree w/ a recent post from gad about this "signal chasing" getting out of line, and how fundamentally, the signal would be larry's anyway.
i already posted about this last night, but if you reread exactly what happened, i dont think it looks any more creepy for krayz than it does for LL. (yes, i think the "question mark" plays here).
-----------------------------------
re: jack -
to whoever said jack's posting style is wolfy (bigger or rw): yes yes yes.
again, why are ppl giving village points to something like that? doesn't anyone remember when whitegoose did something very similar, and was cleared for it (as villa). then reproduced it effortlessly as wolf? it's a deceptively easy posting style
----------------------------------
re: loretta -
agree w/ sooted still on loretta. the interaction between her and CQ about "i dont respond a certain way to pressure" was interesting. or i thought so since:
+ i asked point blank last night "how does loretta respond to pressure?"
+ CQ had a point blank post about "why bother pressing her if she doesn't respond to pressure?"
+ loretta only responded to him and to say basically "i dont have a standard response"
also: lol at gabe's lost wolf. that's my favorite part of this game so far
and: aaronk: do you still vyk is wolfy?

Re: Lord of the Rings 2 - Game Thread
Instead of going by page, I present ye random smattering of multiquotes, since that's going to be all the rage given the post restrictions, and some notes:

The "you can always change later" is worth a wolf point for sooted imo.

ibav. I saw someone else already said this after I grabbed this to multiquote, but ibav's goofy list is standard for him

Palo seems really wolfy to me but I'm hesitant a little given that he got mislynched recently. I'd like to hear more specific comparisons to that game from people who played with him

its possible i fell into that later category and maybe globe wasn't being intrinsically wolfy
i think the questions were pretty meh, tone is a little stilted and posts are on the shorter side - all cautionary signs for me
also, if globe is a wolf im likely to be much more confident in my opinion a day or two down the road
|
I really hate monik's posts where he backtracks on globe. It just feels like the kind of continuity in thinking that happens when a wolf re-reads and wants to post his "new" reads but not break continuity with what he said before. Whereas villagers just throw it out there.

another officedog post I don't like. Specifically, if this post ended with her calling anarchist a wolf, that would be good. But the soft accusation is not good, especially for OD I think

thank you, the reasoning given for voting me has been so bizarre and illogical i feel like i am being leveled.
did a reread of kowboys, a guy many are calling villagery for some reason

Prediction #1 (So I can look back and see how many of these are right post game)

a few people have called this wolfy and i agree, really no reason to speculate and an easy thing for wolves to talk about

yeah, but the thing is I can list multiple people who fit the same category so I want to know why bigger thinks berksonz is special
I'm calling zsjostrom a wolf for same reasons, but especially because I've seen him as a good self-clearing villager
can you 2 say the same for berksonz?
