The top song submitted that I'd never heard. I mean, I don't know if he knows I'm a war veteran or not but I am. And this song really ****ing speaks to vets. I mean, I sat with a beer for like 15 minutes and just listened to this tune back to back and felt... alive and dead at the same time. Awesome selection.
I guess it's fitting Binkles ships the top two being from Australia and all.
mic_check 12 Elvis Presley - "That's All Right Mama"
The guy that completely changed music, needless to say I'm a huge Elvis mark. And this is one of his better songs. This song was released when ****ing Eisenhower was president and it could have charted for probably 4 decades after. Great tune.
Again, that category was brutal to score. Maybe I should have done like 1940-1955 or something like that. Judging Elvis v Tchaikovsky v Copland v Sinatra v Bennie Goodman. lolol it was rough.

mic_check 1 The mexican guy singing the awful tune in the reality show God Bless America the movie by Bobcat Goldthwait from 2012. I can't find a link so I hope you've seen the film, if not I guess I'm getting zero!
I considered Connie Talbot, but thought the Paul Potts performance was just so legendary. Susan Boyle is another one.
Haley Reinhart's House of the Rising Sun is soooo gooood though, I actually said 'almost went with that' then realised I did with my gimmick :P
Her Benny and the Jets is fantastic too

It's one of my favourites. Almost went with it under my main but thought it'd be a song that would either do super duper well or super duper poorly. I knew you had connections to the army, and I know a ton of veterans who connect so strongly to this, and it's probably the most iconic Australian song, so I rolled with it.
It's definitely not our most well known, but I think if you ask most Aussies what song defines us, this would be up there.
