Re: Longest Game Ever (Game Thread)
Oh, and a quick reaction on the issue of who is favored by the format: the villagers, but not by much. It may not be pro-village for me to elaborate.

speculation abt what's in the other thread:
betting lines on who quits first/when thread first makes it onto page 2
eskimo's confession that he posted signup as a joke
laughing that we've all got villager pms

Re: Longest Game Ever (Game Thread)
Sure, I suggest this game is a huge level and everyone ignores me. Kokiri suggests it and dnky is like OMG!
I'm going to start gardening vegetables so that people take me more seriously.

Kokiri, that post is really clever if you're a wolf.

Re: Longest Game Ever (Game Thread)
What was that turbo where the mod (bobo?) said there was a twist and one guy says "maybe the twist is it's 3 teams of wolves" and one guy agrees and the village lynches them for the sweep?

First one: No, but betting on something. First lynch? First meltdown?
Second one: Almost certainly.
Third one: If so, I think seventeen people are going to kill him. About ten years from now.

Yes, the post is pretty clever if kokiri's a wolf, but it feels genuine to me. Also, we have to consider that it might have been optimal for the wolves to have someone else post it — I'm not sure kokiri would the best choice, and my first cut is that it would have been better to have one of the cubs do it. Hence, my working hypthesis is that kokiri is a villager.

No, you didn't suggest it in at all the same way: Right after (joke, I assume) voting bigger, then decaring that Hitch is a wolf, you posted this:

Not the same. Kokiri's was lighthearted speculation too, but the thrust of your posting at that point was that it is a werewolf game, and ZOMG you found a wolf — but just in case it's a level, you want it on the record that you weren't fooled.
You are much more active and aggressive than I remember you usually being. Do you think this is just how your game has evolved while I've been gone?

Re: Longest Game Ever (Game Thread)
In other news: after charging GTP with finding posts in which Hitch says something to the effect that a certain post from me doesn't make me a villager, I looked a bit this morning and didn't find any. I still feel like they're out there, but some serious digging may be required (or I may be thinking of someone else).

I'm curious as to what lead you to make the first statement, and how convinced you are about it.
second statement; confirmed

...I'm assuming that the post is in reference to HP b/c his lynch just occurred in there, and I haven't read the community thread, really, today, and there was no such post by BB last time I checked that thread.
...my limited comment, given the "don't discuss ongoing games" restriction, is that the force of his argument is somewhat weakened given that he was just lynched *as an evil* and not by a majority by any means (11/75 votes IIRC).
But has he been a punching bag of sorts? Yea, I'd say so. But not the only one. McAvoy is, as well. JG can be. dkgo, now that he's active again (?), seems to be verging in that direction. Luckay dances on the edge of that sometiems. Elliot seems to have been that in the past (or maybe that's just in turbos? I get the sense of this but haven't actually seen it as a pattern). THC may fall into this category as well. maybe BEG, too?
There seems to be something of an attitude that certain players should just be lynched early without regard to their actual roles in a game. I haven't done an analysis to see how often this is actually a wolf argument ("let's lynch BB, he's always a good D1 lynch") or how often it actually occurs (as opposed to getting talked about, jokingly, seriously, or some mix).
If/when it's *not* a wolf ploy, it's pretty terrible for the game. & POG. for POG, obviously, if it's running off players. for the game, because the village doesn't get mislynches to remake itself in its preferred image by voting off "undesireables". a mislynch is a mislynch. the village is not "better off without" someone who turned out to be a villager.
voting off mrs. buttons in Lost Wolves D1 was this kind of fundamental error, I understand now.
It's especially heinous when someone in this category turns out to be a village power role. & it's results-oriented to think it was a good idea when they turn out to be an evil.
my advice to BB would be to stick it out.
& to remember that you don't have to run faster than the bear to avoid getting eaten

I love this post.
I went through a period of dying D1 one way or another, and I know atak did too. I remember him posting a quasi rant about it.
