I can imagine (I think), and certainly don't fault the site.
But I have an idea. If I understand it correctly, an account becomes fully enabled, automatically, after (1) it has existed for a certain amount of time (let's say X days), and (2) it has made a certain number of posts (let's say Y). If that's correct, then I can imagine the following working:
- Create gimmick account.
- Wait a while, at least X days.
- PM somebody to get permission to post in this thread.
- Make Y posts in this thread, very quickly.
- When the account is thereby enabled, quickly use the new ability to put up an avatar.
- Delete all Y posts — this all has to be done within the window for that, of course.
If it all worked, you would be left with an account with zero posts, but an avatar. Some people might have seen the now-deleted posts here, but most wouldn't have, and if you chose to pop in a year later it would be about as cool as it otherwise would have.
Have I missed something?
