SSNL Werewolf - The Grind
Quote:
Making money as a professional poker player is pretty easy. One has to get up at 3PM, click the mouse for an hour and call it a day.
... at least that's what people think.
You however know that it is harder than that, it's a grind. Get in 3-6k hands per day, read strategy posts, watch training videos and don't deviate from the standard and winning ABC style no matter how tempting it may be.
22 players wake up with this mindset each day and grind out a solid earn however the
grinders (aka villagers) are facing an unexpected threat these days.
There's 8 players amongst you that inspired by watching HSP and having a higher ratio of training videos to hands played want to become the next big thing. They play hands that grinders frown upon, splash around with the splasher and just try to dominate. Because they know that "changing gears" is an important skill at the poker table these
LAGs (aka wolves) mix it up enough that it is hard to identify them, especially since all tracking software was banned on this poker site.
Three players are
grinders who get coaching (aka seers). They can ask their coach each night (by sending a PM to the moderator) what they think about a certain player's style and will learn their role.
Each day one player is targeted by the majority of players and goes busto (he is lynched and leaves the game). To target a player for lynching put his name in bold at the end of a post.
Each night the reckless style of a LAG will tilt one of the Grinders to tilt away their roll in a HU grudge match (they are nightkilled and leave the game ).
Roles - The following roles are in this games:
- 22 Grinders (aka villagers) - anyone who is a regular villager is trying to lynch all the wolves during the day, and has no action at night. They win if all the wolves are dead, even if they are dead themselves.
- 8 LAGs (aka werewolves) - Werewolves talk and vote during the day just as villagers. At night they collectively choose a victim. A werewolf will win if there are as many werewolves as other people remaining in the game and like the villager, it doesn't matter if you are alive or not at the end.
- 3 Grinders with coaching (aka seers) - During the day the seer talks and votes just like the villagers. At night, a seer is allowed to determine the role of any one townsperson. The seer is on the villager side and has the same winning conditions.
House Rules:
* No talking at night. There is no talking in the thread at night for any reason.
* No talking when dead. Once you are dead, you may make one post with some sort of funny comment, however no strategy content should be included "I knew I had it coming" is ok but "durron and Jared are wolves, look into their voting history" is not. After this post do not post anymore in the thread until the game ends. Dead wolves are dead in wolf chat as well. They may not give any further strategy input.
* Do not post pictures of actual lynchings or make references to racial lynchings. While we're using the term lynching fairly lightly in the context of the game, actual lynching is a rather different matter. Please be respectful of others and don't make inappropriate comments or post inappropriate images.
* Do not talk about the PM you got, specifically how it was worded
* If you have any questions about game dynamics do not post them in the thread, send a PM to the moderator (clowntable)
* You will be modkilled upon the mods choice if you step over the lines of acceptable behaviour. You will also be modkilled if you do not post at least once per day, if you are going to be away for the day PM the moderator to not be modkilled.
It is still night - do not post in this thread untill day is called. Role PMs have not been sent yet, there will be a new post with the final player list once the PMs have gone out
