I just saw this thread. I'm going to open it momentarily because the conversation might be helpful. I'd like to keep the conversation mostly about BWG and whether anyone has been contacted by him in a way that would suggest he was scamming.

We've been working on this in the mod forum since well before this thread was made (since 11/13/14) and we've been in communication, through Willi, with the other forum where he ran a poker-related scam (google translate is kind of awesome, sort of).

In the event that any of his accounts are found anywhere on 2p2 trying to do anything, I will blow up his spot and make clear to the other party that he's probably a scammer.

He may be perma'd, but please note that 2p2 has not usually done that to scammers who are suspected of scamming elsewhere. There is at least 1 other POG user we are aware of who would fall under that umbrella of suspicion (not nearly to this degree), but there is no need to ruin that user's experience here when that user is not doing anything wrong here. Also consider that suspicion is not proof and punishing people for suspicion is deeply screwed up and objectionable as a basic human principle - not that I want to elevate BWG's POG needs to a matter of human dignity or fairness, because lol at that. All I want to do is make users aware because the threat seems relevant.

I've been unable to uncover any reason to believe BWG is NOT a scammer, by the way. That is not to say that I KNOW anything. My suspicion is weighted heavily toward the allegations are legit.

All that said, I will of course let everyone know what the resolution is.

I just know that the dude plays the emo card during WW games. So probably make him a BOS.

I also want to say willi but I wish this thread hadn't been made when it was. Not mad, just wish we'd been able to make a softer comment than putting his real name in our forum when he didn't do anything related to the scams on our forum (so far as we know).

Not to preclude discussion about McAvoy entirely, but the mods were previously asked to let McAvoy come back, and we declined. I don't want to speak for the others, but there is no argument that can be made on his behalf that will be compelling and the issue is, so far as I am aware, a closed issue to all of us.

If this thread turns into whinging about that, I'm just going to close it, but I do appreciate constructive views on the issue.

Wow I'm used to seeing all kinds of (relatively) trustworthy MPers and PTPers scam and roll investors, but first I'm seeing of a Pogger. Kind of hits harder personally. With staking it's just business - but in POG we're a community, we play games and interact. Sucks that one of our own, so to speak, turned about to be a scammer.

Not so far as we know, but it appears he has actively been scamming via poker transfers through another poker forum and, 2p2 being a poker community, this is deeply uncomfortable.

Note that forum scammers often build rapport through post count, and that building post count in POG is the easiest thing in the world.

He might have genuinely enjoyed games here, and for all we know might have had the most honest of intentions. But if he in fact scammed people elsewhere, the bottom line is until that's resolved, we (just like any other community, online or IRL) shouldn't be associated with him

He wasn't some nice guy who had his bad moments. He was actively trying to be more of an ******* than he was in Burn Notice. There is a clear difference between someone who has bad moments, and a pure *******. The difference is someone who has bad moments shows some remorse after their bad moments.
