Your mother should give him the following proposal: Without looking at his collection he has 24 hours to make a list of all the ones he can remember. He can keep as many as he can remember.

That's fantastic. I'm in the process of ordering my collection a bit. Will post some pictures soonish

Nice collection, looks like many years in the making

I'll post mine when I figure out my storage solution

Got to play my first 4-player Food Chain Magnate last night; was great

More games should use meaningful milestones like that

Wow has he played every one of those? He should open up a board game cafe

I'm sure there's a couple he's never played

I can just imagine

"Not tonight Derek, I know you just got the expansion pack for Marrying Mr Darcy, but we've played too many games recently. Maybe some other time."

Bought Kingdomino, Spiel des Jahres 2017 and in my family (10-14) it was a resounding failure.

Has anyone shelled out the ridiculous amount of money for Gloomhaven? It looks amazing, but I'll have limited chances to play it so it'd really need to be great for me to buy.

yup waiting for it to be delivered (should be in Sept.), also trying to shell out even more ludicrous amounts of $ for kingdom death: monster 1.5 but it seems impossible to get at this point

if you have any interest in selling hmu, will pay a decent markup for it if it's one of the better tiers (ancient gold lantern or higher)

Got to try/buy Witches of the Revolution, as well as Dragonfire. Both as a pre-release at PAX West. Both fun co-op deck building games, with Dragonfire set in the DND universe.

Any particular reason? I just ask because I've not come across anybody that hasn't liked it yet. I have played it with groups of hardcore gamers and with novice gamers and it's gone down a storm with everyone.

I got the $99 tier + $10 solo add-on

That was the highest there was (and only one that is full game versus the lower tiers that are expansions to first printing), there is no gold lantern or other cool names in the second printing

I may be willing to part with it

Just bought Codenames Duet and hoping to give it a play sometime in the next few days. I'm a huge Codenames fan so I hope they've nailed a two player version which is fun.

we played with 3 and the decisions just weren't interesting enough. It felt like it played itself. I'd like to play it with 4 but my son has quit already on it after one game so we're one short

Has anyone played Grand Austrian Hotel? I bought it at an auction for $25, still in plastic. I'm trying to decide whether to resell or play.

Try it with 2 then, it works great as a two player game.

This may be obvious but someone in our gaming group missed it first time around - did you notice that the higher numbered tiles are more valuable for your grid, so your decision when choosing your tile has to balance tile value with play order for the next round. Also you have to keep an eye on what your opponents are doing and balance out getting tiles that benefit you with taking tiles that would be highly beneficial to them.

For sure it's not the deepest game ever but for a light filler that teaches and plays in about 15 mins it's got a good amount of strategy.

Hello, board game thread!

If you haven't already, please take a moment and fill out my survey to be used in a POG guesstamania game. Ten quick yes or no questions. However, please don't say in the thread if you have filled out the survey or not.

I’m trying to get a large cross-section of POG people, so I’m spamming this survey post everywhere I can think of. Sorry if you keep seeing it.

Survey link

Thanks, and don't forget to play the game after the data collection is complete!

Really enjoyable dice-drafting game with 2 or 3 players. Way too long with 4p.
