Welcome

After the Titans were struck down, the three brothers drew their roles amongst the Olympian Gods. Zeus was thrilled to learn he would rule the Heavens and Poseidon was content with his role as Lord of the Seas. But from the moment his straw was drawn, Hades began plotting his rebellion. When the Olympian Gods vowed never to leave their high perch because Zeus had been sleeping with too many hot mortal chicks, Hades knew the time to strike had come.

Only Dionysus and Poseidon were allowed on earth, and the rest of the Gods were forced to work through proxy. They would develop a group of Chosen heroes to fight against the men and creatures that ascended from Hades.

Every man knew most of the powers both sides possessed, and everyone agreed it was a fair, well-balanced fight that would come down to which side fought better.

POG Rules
Do not attack or insult other players in the game. A little bit can be overlooked; if it becomes excessive, or contravenes 2+2 site rules, then Moderator action may be taken. You should focus on attacking a persons ideas, actions or logic - not the poster as an individual. If you feel someone is crossing the line with namecalling, you should PM a POG Mod (Legend42, gtpitch, Zurvan or ElliotR) who is not currently playing in the game. Post reports should be avoided if mods are playing the game, as it may provide them additional unfair information based on who is reporting. Standard 2+2 rules violations (ie, telling someone to perish in a oily conflagration, inline nudity) can be reported with the Post Notification button.

Wagering on the game is not allowed.

2+2 Terms of Service and site rules are to be observed at all times

One account per player - you may not play in a game with multiple accounts, nor should you attempt to use a well known account to extract information from other players while you play on a gimmick account.

Any other PMs or private communication with the Game mod is not to be posted in the thread

Any time you have rule questions - be it general questions, or those about specific game rules - contact the Mod in private. Do not post the question in thread, and do not expect the mod to see any questions posted.

No communication outside the game thread with ANY other players in the game about the game, unless it is specifically allowed by your role, and only within such times as are specified in the role PM.


The Setup

Voting

Each day, each player is allowed (and encouraged) to vote to lynch a player. To do so, type the name of the player in bold; if you want to be sure the moderator sees it, you could be so kind as to write something like "vote: Zurvan", but it is not required.You may abbreviate the name of the player, provided it is clear to other players (and the moderator) whom you mean.

You may remove your vote by posting "unvote". You may change your vote simply by voting the new player; you do not need to unvote.

At the end of the scheduled game day, the player with the most votes is lynched, and his role revealed in the thread. If two or more players are tied for the most votes, one of the tied players is chosen randomly by the moderator.




The Timing

All times give are server time, which is also Eastern Standard Time.

I will open the thread every morning by posting "It is day." You may not post in the thread until I have made the morning post. Day will usually start at 9:00am

Day lasts until 9:00pm. Posting at 9:00pm is acceptable, and votes with that time stamp will be counted. Posting after that, even just a minute after, is not acceptable, even if I have not yet declared it night by posting "It is night." Do not post in the thread at any time, for any reason, between the end of the day and the opening of the trhead the next morning.

Weekends are different: There is not "night" Saturday night -- the thread remains open from Saturday morning until Sunday evening. There is no scheduled Saturday night lynch.

There will never be majority lynch.

Communication

The only direct communication allowed is amongst the Olympian Gods, the wolves, Hera’s chosen masons and Demeter and his mason. All other communication goes through me.

All Chat Abilities are 24 Hours.

Any questions regarding the rules should be submitted to the moderator by PM.

Other Rules

Participation

Werewolf is a participatory game. While it may be good strategy simply never to post, it is not fun for other players when people play that way. Accordingly, everyone is expected to participate on a regular basis.

This means that everyone is expected to post something every day, but it means more than that. Popping into the thread once a day to say "posting to avoid modkill" is an excellent way to get modkilled.

If you aren't going to be able to post at all on a given game day, tell me beforehand. Life happens; we get that. Once or twice is not an enormous problem, but if it's going to be an ongoing issue, we'll have to find you a substitute.

Angleshooting

Lying is not only allowed, it is expected.

Quoting or paraphrasing communications with or PMs from the mod is not allowed.

Player assistance with vote counts will be greatly appreciated when the moderator is not available. If you make a mistake while doing one, that's to be expected. Do not intentionally make any, though.

Posting after day has ended, whether I have called "night" or not, is not allowed.

Discussing the game outside the thread is not allowed. Sometimes this comes up when someone is in two games at once; basically, the most you can say outside this thread is that the game is going on, and so-andso was or is in it.

Posting in the thread after you're dead is not allowed, much. You may post once after you are killed, if you want, but you may not say anything substantive -- "go, village" or "take it down, wolves" are about the limit. After that, stay out of the thread; root, but root silently.

It is best if after you are dead you don't discuss the substance of the game with anyone else in the game, or even other people, until it's over.

If you are ever unsure about whether something is or is not allowed PM the game mod and ask.

Note that most villagers will begin the game as vanillas, by working hard you may incentivize the Gods to grant you power.

Vanilla PM

You are a mortal and a vanilla villager. You win by eliminating all the wolves.

Please check your PMs every morning to be sure your role has not changed.

The following are the wolf roles:

xxx, you are Hades, ruler of the Underworld. Any time a mortal villager dies, you gain their powers for the next day night cycle. On n1, you may choose a player. If they are a not yet chosen mortal, they will be your wife, Persephone. You may keep choosing until you succeed. Once you have Persephone, every night you may a peek a player and find out if they are one of the players you need to kill.

xxx, you are Persephone. If Hades is killed, you will die in his place. He will then have his defenses up and be unkillable for a day night cycle.

xxx, you are Cerebrus, keeper of the Gates of Hades. Each of your. 3 heads gets a vote and on even nights starting n2, you may kill a player.

xxx, you are Hypnos, sleep. Each night you may cause a player to fall asleep and fail to perform any actions.

xxx, you are Thanatos, death. Every odd night you may kill a player of your choice.

xxx, you are Charon, ferryman of the dead. Every time a player dies, you will receive gold which you may use to buy powers.

xxx, you are Minos, controller of the Minotaur and judge of the dead. Once during the game starting d2, you may throw 2 players to the minotaur and each will have a 50% of survival (since the Gods will help them). Each night starting n3, you may choose a player and if they die, only their affiliation will be revealed. Once this power has been used successfully, you will lose it.

xxx, you are Alecto, the Erinye that punishes moral crimes. Each night you may choose a player that voted a villager the previous day and make their vote count as -1. You may not choose a wolf.

xxx, you are Tisiphone, the Erinye that punishes murder. Each night you may choose a player and if that player is killed that night, their killer will lose his power the next night.

xxx, you are Megaera, the Erinye that causes jealousy. On n0, you may choose 2 players. They will not get a vote until they are chosen, and if they are not chosen they will never have a vote.

xxx, you are Zeus. Each night starting n1, you may choose any player you do not know to be chosen. This player will have their vote count for 3 the next day. Additionally, you may choose a proxy on n1. Each night starting n2, both you and your proxy will submit a target and if your targets match that person will die. You have no communication with your proxy. Also, you may post in the thread exactly once. Post in bold red “ZAP XXX” and that person will die.

xxx, you are Hera. On n1, you will choose a player and they will receive 24 hour mason chat with Aphrodite’s choice. You may send me one 10 word PM per night for your proxy.

xxx, you are Apollo. On n0, you will choose a proxy. Every night starting n1, they will receive a peek. You have no communication with your proxy.

xxx, you are Athena. On n0, you will choose a proxy. Every night starting n0, you will choose a target and your proxy will learn their full role. You have no communication with your proxy.

xxx, you are Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt. On n1, you will choose a proxy. Every night starting n2, they will be able to track one player an learn who they targeted. You may send one picture to me every night which I will pass along to your proxy.

xxx, you are Hermes, messanger of the Gods. On n0, you will choose a proxy. Every night starting n1, they will choose a target and you will race down and save that target from death that night. If your proxy repeats his target, he will become a bodyguard rather than an angel (so if his protect is targeted, he (and you) will die.

xxx, you are Aphrodite, goddess of beauty. On n1, you will choose a player and they will receive 24 hour mason chat with Hera’s choice. You may send me one 10 word PM per night for your proxy.

xxx, you are Hepahestus, craftsman of the Gods, on n2 you may choose a proxy and they will have powers unknown.


xxx, you are Demeter. On n3, you will choose a player. You will have unlimited chat with them as well as with the other Gods. Your proxy choice will succeed on any player in the game other than existing proxies, Olympian Gods and peeked players.

-With the exception of Zeus's one post, none of you may post in the game thread.

-With the exception of Demeter, your choices will fail if you target a wolf. Also, there are randed vanilla villagers that cannot be chosen to avoid making that broken. If your choice fails twice, you will be able to keep choosing, but will no longer grant your chosen any powers.

-You know the following roles but do not have chat with them.
Ares: XXX, Poseidon: XXX.

-Your communication will go through me with the exception of Demeter. If you believe you have a game-breaking plan, let me know because I don't want my game ruined just because I didn't think of something.

None of you can be killed directly, but you lose your powers and can not longer participate in chat once your chosen is kills.

Other villa power roles:


xxx, you are Poseidon. You will of course remain on earth at your post during the war. On odd nights you will remain untargetable in the water. On even nights you will reach out and stab someone with your trident, killing them.

xxx, you are Ares. You are hated by most of the other gods and therefore not allowed in chat. On n0, you choose a proxy and they will have a night kill every night starting n1. You and your proxy will have 24hour chat starting when d1 starts.

xxx, you are Dionysus, partier of the Gods. You are already on earth at the beginning of the war because the Gods are tired of your drunker ramblings. Every night, you will drink with whoever you vote during the day. You have a 50% chance of passing out before them and a 50% chance of getting them to tell you their role.
