EDIT: One example being my proposal would not benefit my standing at all and is likely to force me to be nicer if that's what POG wants.

I think it's pretty clear that I'm talking about who you are on POG. If not: I'm talking about who you are on POG. And who you are here, now, is someone who's trying to make meanness more acceptable.

I am not capable of convincing you guys of anything because I am seen as an outsider with little WW experience. Regardless of my manner, you guys would not be interested in what I have to say. Please dont pretend that this is not 100% the case. Go look at the initial responses to my OP if you are not convinced.

The only way I was going to get my ideas debated properly was to get a fair and free discussion of ideas going, something that POG was lacking before I made my thread.

Furthermore, about your ideas of what is 'un POG-like', well, you're falling into the same arrogant stance as TL did earlier. You do not get to decide on your own what is 'un POG-like'.

Just offering confirmation that you didn't misconstrue my thoughts on the matter.

Although it should be noted that I retracted my gung ho-ness about this idea with a killer epiphany yesterday. In general I believe that it's healthy to be open and honest about your feelings toward one another, but I sorta realized that having a venue where you could avoid conflict and sweep things under the rug is appealing to some people and need not necessarily be changed.

I think you are conflating my personal preferences about POG interactions and WW play with what I believe would benefit the forum. I'm not trying to enforce standards of play, and I'm not trying to force anyone to "play to win" by my definition. That was an entirely different conversation. To be clear, I DO think POG plays soft, but that's got nothing to do with my modding ideas. If a consequence of the WWI&GCT is competitive games with less strife, wonderful, but that's not the intent or a goal.

I think that's wildly unlikely. No one is going to be calling you out in any wanker thread (different name yadda yadda) for playing hard — there will never be an argument that it's against the spirit of the game, because you're essentially defining the spirit of the game going into it.
