wow i must have completely missed the discussion on this one. The top of the draft gets completely ****ing jobbed. I pick 2nd then 23/35? as opposed to 12/13/25?

A fifth round reversal would be more fair imo. Top of the draft kinda sucks now.

3rd round reversal is generally considered the most objectively fair draft system in terms of balancing all the positions as fairly as possible. Some people actually think it's still not good enough to counteract the advantage of having a very early pick and there's even a method that reverses only the 3rd round, so 12th pick would end up picking first the 2nd, 3rd and 4th round. Personally I think that's fairly ott but 3rd round reversal is definitely fairer than a straight snake.

Edit: According to a draft pick value calculator first position has roughly a 2% edge on 12th position in the first 5 rounds (and obviously it would only get slightly bigger through the later rounds) even with a 3rd round reversal. In a straight snake it's more like 7% (after 4 rounds).
