Re: Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League Thread

This is crazy that we're waiving people already.

I waive everyone but Strasburg. Where do I post that?

Re: Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League Thread

Can we dangle people on waivers, like put them there and then take them back before we lose them to FA if no one bites? Isn't that what they do in the pros?

I'll take Butler if you pay $4 of his salary.

Re: Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League Thread

omg just found out about this thread! So far, I'm loving this league.

I think you guys are a bit too worried about money spent. I did an "ideal" team for me before the draft with $values on certain players. I can still theoretically have $12-16 free at the end and look who I have so far...I've definitely spent money in this auction.

Re: Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League Thread

I would be willing to pay up to $5 on Miggy's contract in a trade depending on who I am getting back /buyer's remorse

Re: Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League Thread

I think the prices I paid for my guys are all pretty reasonable, but I would like a little more flexibility, so if anyone is looking to trade for any of them, and the trade would leave me with more money, let me know.

Oh, and I put a few polls in the rules suggestions section. The results of these will pretty much be binding, so go and have a look and vote please.

Re: Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League Thread

I think it might help move the minor league draft along if people could pm someone not up for a while their pick, if they are up soon.

Ftr, I am around pretty much 9am to 6pm est.

Yeah, I agree with this. If anyone wants to PM me a pick that would be ideal - I'll happily take conditional picks. If you are worried about me stealing your picks, you can PM them to manupod, who is at the other end of the snake, and is also around a lot.

Question:

If I had drafted Joe Mauer and signed him to a 5 yr deal, and the Twins move him to first base for good next year, would I still be able to play him as my catcher for the life of the contract?

No. Position eligibility is according to Yahoo. From memory, a player is eligible to play at a position if he started five games at that position last year, or played in ten games at that position. Rules are similar for pitchers but I can't remember the exact details, and rookies usually start off eligible for their main position. A player can't lose eligibility mid season.
