Grouping is generally needed when people leave similar but non identical answers. For instance if players 1 & 2 say "Jesus" and player 3 & 4 say "Jesus Christ" and player 5 says "Jesus of Nazareth" then usually they would all be grouped together by a mod as one of those options and each player would receive 5 points.
What makes this different is the duplicate part of things.
If valid answers to Q1 & Q2 were "Jesus" and valid answers to Q3 & Q4 were "Jesus Christ" and Q5 could have a valid answer of "Jesus" or "Jesus Christ" then some potentially tricky things could happen.
