So I'm going to give it a shot DMing. Stuck mentioned there are 5 people interested in being PCs. I'm going to cap the party @ 5 members. If you're interested in joining this campaign, please submit to me the following (either here in the forum or via PM):

*Skype Contact info
*Character Information
Name
Race
Class
Abilities (22-point buy system)
Powers (At-Will, Encounter, Daily)
Equipment (Characters start with 100gp)
Character Backstory

I highly recommend using this site for building a character with the "traditional" classes & races. 4e Character Generator

I'll be spending today coming up with a story arc and encounters. I'd like to use your character's backstories to weave thematic events into the campaign.

Also, because it's my first time DMing, I'd prefer characters be of the Neutral or Good alignment. However, if you want to play an Evil character, please send me a PM so we can discuss.

Here's a simple character backstory that I wrote up to give you an idea of what I'm looking for. This PC is a Human Fighter.

When Jayson was a child he was adopted by the Derins, a nomadic tribe of Halflings, after the town he lived in was ransacked and destroyed by a group of raiders. The halflings, having seen the carnage taking place, stayed hidden outside of town until all of the bad-guys left, then went in to scavenge for free-stuff. They found Jayson crying & wandering aimlessly through the streets and decided to make him as one of their own out of a sense of responsibility to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Through his years, he was berated by his Halfling peers for being (comparatively) freakishly tall, freakishly strong, and simple-minded. He may be dumb, but he is not vengeful, so barbs about his various "differences" never provoked violent reactions. Because the children antagonized him non-stop he took to spending the majority of his time with the elders of the tribe, hearing tales of travel and learning the importance of community (the whole is greater than the individual).

The elders saw the value of having a Human as one of their own, so they tasked him to do arduous physical tasks that they themselves were not as capable of doing. The tribe has various watches when they decide to rest. One of Jayson's "jobs" within the tribe was to take at-least 1 watch/night, every night, because of his comparative physical prowess.

Against the wishes of the community that raised him, he has decided to travel the continent alone and leave behind the Derin tribe. As a symbol of his love and appreciation for the tribe's kindness, he has taken their name as his own.

Jayson doesn't seek revenge against the people who killed his mother and father & destroyed the town he was from. If not for that set of events, he never would have come to the Halflings that he grew to love. Instead, he wants to write his own stories, to live a heroic life of honor and valor, protecting people in distress so they may one day tell the tale of Jayson Derin, their savior

Stuck has created a google docs spreadsheet. Please refer to that and fill in your availability

Looking forward to hearing from you guys.
