I kinda agree, that may be one of the most profitable tenth overall picks we have had.

it's hard to see how the 1st/2nd/3rd drafters aren't completely hosed by this ABBA drafting, especially in a deep year like this

i definitely should've brought this up before randing tho lol

Yeah, straight snake would've been better this year and last year. I'm pretty sure I brought that up in the other thread.

Um, just this year we've had round 2 cappers and a potential round 3 capper.

Last year I think ABBA was better because there were very few easy picks, and in fact all of the top 3 drafters in 2016 are likely to finish in the top 5 so I think that ended up working out.

This year it's much more spread out, lotsa good movies here in the first 11 picks.

One option would be to shift ABBA later in the draft, something like ABABBABABA?

Can't believe I'm saying this about Transformers at #9 but I think that's too high.

I kind of agree

Transformers progression...

319M
402M
352M
245M

Apparently they are planning on transformers movies for the following two summers as well. I guess they are trying to milk Transformers as much as possible while they can.

Snow white and the huntsman, Cinderella, maleficent. They perform well, but not top 4, or am I crazy?
I think Beauty and the Beast is more about Disney straight up redoing their classics. Snow White and Maleficent were telling the classic story but at a different angle. Cinderella did 200M. Jungle Book did 360M. I think Beauty and the Beast being a recent Disney, being redone with modern tech will do more like Jungle Book.

Transformers is absolutely massive in worldwide gross, the progression there is 710m -> 835m -> 1.125b -> 1.105b. My assumption is that this one will drop a little further domestic but it'll stay over 1 billion worldwide. They have all the reason they need to plan 2 more

I don't know how much this really means but fwiw the Beauty and the Beast trailer broke the record of most youtube views within 24 hours that was set by The Force Awakens. I was surprised by some predictions I saw too but I guess after Jungle Book's performance it's not outlandish to think it might finish at #2 this year.

Yeah I had pipe dreams of Beauty and the Beast reaching me.

I fully expect non-animated versions of Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Lion King in the next few years. You heard it here first.

im super drunk and at a baller resort in hawaii with a model. i can't give this draft me full attention. but i pm'd a list of movies to domer.

im certain my MY list will give him the strategic edge he needs to ship this. if he wins it will only be because of me

Pretty sure that Aladdin is already in development and I think it's a safe bet that they'll keep making live-action versions as long as they keep making money.

Cars 3:Hey we are making a lot on merchandising, I guess we have to keep making sequels to make to relevant, even if it is only going to make about 200M domestic, but lets keep the merchandising rolling

Is a safe pick

Ya reckon? Both years seem pretty close to me - a few easy picks and a whole lotta maybes. I think the spread will end up pretty close to last year.

Knew you'd go with it here, I think it's a better pick than at least Cars, Thor, Pirates and Transformers.

Pixar's Coco
A little concerning that the first hit for Coco on Google is an adult film star, complete with pictures.
