First impression - this sounds like a song They Might Be Giants would cover. Up beat, and quirky. Pacing is fine, arrangement is ok, but it is not very engaging. Not sure why, maybe it is just too high or something, needs more lower elements to balance it?

Depends on how you define it. I have definitely gone off and listened to new things I found in walruses, but I never really shied away from any genre in the past. I doubt I would have stumbled upon a lot of the songs I have added to my play lists though.
