"He saw the operation you tried to pull today
But your humiliation means he still votes 'neigh'
And now assassination is just the only way
There will be blood, it might be yours
So go kill someone
Signed: Bad Horse"

Game Window: 8 AM - 11 PM Eastern (aka 5 AM - 8 PM Pacific). Weekends are played as a single day.
Source Material: Click the banner to watch the original three-act supervillian-origin story/satire/musical/romance on Hulu if you somehow didn't see it when it came out this summer.

THE GAME: CHARACTERS AND POWERS

The Evil League of Evil is the evil faction, getting one night-kill as a group.

BAD HORSE: The Thoroughbred of Sin, and leader of The Evil League of Evil. His mighty Death Whinny strikes fear into all those unlucky enough to cross his path.

Special Powers: Bad Horse will never be affected by Captain Hammer's powers.

Professor Normal: His costume consists of ordinary business attire and a cyborg jaw. He has a wife, three kids, and a mortgage on his house, among other things. The cyborg jaw is only a "work-in-progress", he says, as he intends to be completely cyborg by Spring of 2010. Dead Bowie refers to him as "Professor Boring".

Special Powers: Professor Normal has three "extra" votes (in total, not per day). He can apply multiple "extra" votes at once (all 3 in one day, 2 on one day and 1 on another, or 1 on three different days). These "extra" votes will only be applied to the player that Professor Normal voted for on the day of use -- in other words, they function like a standard "double voter" role's double-vote does, but he can choose when and how many he uses.

Dead Bowie: His costume is based on the appearance of rock musician David Bowie's alien alter ego Ziggy Stardust, first introduced in the 1972 concept album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. He claims to be the actual David Bowie, saying that he was murdered in 1980, "so everything after '80 was... this other guy." Dead Bowie has the power of persuasion "to put it in simple terms". Others still wonder if he has the power of voodoo.

Special Powers: Dead Bowie can buy one vote per day, specifying whose vote he is buying and onto whom he is placing that bought vote.

Fake Thomas Jefferson: He dresses in an exaggerated 18th-century Colonial outfit, including a tri-corner hat and a decorated pink sash. He claims to be the real Thomas Jefferson (no one believes him), and says he has the strength of five men, or three slaves depending on your unit of measurement. He is adept in horticulture and architecture, and longs to be the Vice President of the Evil League of Evil. He and Dead Bowie have had confrontations on this subject, usually ending with Bowie referring to FTJ as a "kiss-arse".

Special Powers: If Bad Horse dies while Fake Thomas Jefferson remains alive, then Fake Thomas Jefferson takes charge of The Evil League of Evil and receives Bad Horse's immunity to Captain Hammer.

Fury Leika: She is portrayed as a dark-haired woman in a wedding gown. Her name is a pun off the adage "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Fury Leika was, once, a manicurist from Queens in New York City. She was engaged to be married to the love of her life, Ira Goldschitz. Her wedding was to take place at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station near Harrisburg, PN, but Ira never showed up. Left at the alter, she was then "shat on by a radioactive dove", and found herself suddenly being followed by four women (each one carrying something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue). Additionally, her flowers had become poisoned, she had a ball and chain attached to her ankle, and was also equipped with "the incendiary rice". She was suddenly filled with the "overwhelming desire to destroy every man" until she could find Ira.

Vanilla evil.

Pink Pummeler: Background unknown.

Vanilla evil.

Moist, Billy/Dr. Horrible, and Penny are part of a special system; Billy/Dr. Horrible's ultimate alignment adjusts as a result of in-game actions on the part of Moist and Penny.

Moist: Friend and potential Henchman of Billy/Dr. Horrible. His main power is the ability to make things wet; as he is unable to control this power, it routinely appears as though he is sweating profusely. Moist was originally a child suffering from dry skin. To help him, his father bought a humidifier run on plutonium, which rendered him consistently wet. He later met Dr. Horrible for the first time after his failed attempt to ambush Captain Hammer in an autograph signing, helping him up while praising him for being willing to standing up to Hammer.

Special Powers: No inherent powers; see the systems section for further information on Moist's role. In brief, he is intended to push Billy/Dr. Horrible toward Evil.

Penny: She is a volunteer at the Caring Hands Homeless Shelter. While attending her local laundromat she is noticed by Billy/Dr. Horrible and he takes an interest in her. She formally meets Billy/Dr. Horrible while he is preparing for his Wonderflonium heist; when it later goes awry, she is rescued by Captain Hammer. She develops a relationship with him, while also developing a friendship with Billy at the laundromat, still unaware of his villain alter-ego.

Special Powers: No inherent powers; see the systems section for further information on Penny's role. In brief, she is intended to push Billy/Dr. Horrible toward Good.

Billy / Dr. Horrible: Dr. Horrible is the evil alter-ego of Billy, who aspires to join the Evil League of Evil. He is primarily motivated by a desire to make a drastic social change in the world by undermining the status quo and claiming power for himself. Dr. Horrible's nemesis is Captain Hammer, a vain, prideful superhero, described by Dr. Horrible as a "corporate tool." Billy, meanwhile, is an unassuming and shy man, harboring an unspoken crush on Penny, a woman he frequently sees while doing laundry.

While physically unimposing, Billy/Dr. Horrible possesses a genius-level intellect and an understanding of technology that far surpasses that of most of the world, enabling him to invent seemingly impossible items like the trans-matter device, freeze ray, stun ray, death ray, and a remote control device (which allows him to operate a vehicle from an iPhone).

Special Powers: Begins the game as an "undecided" seer; see the systems section for further information on Billy/Dr. Horrible's role. In brief, his powers and alignment develop depending on systems that depend on Moist, Penny, and a nightly rand().

Captain Hammer: A force for good, Captain Hammer still remains a narcissistic, womanizing tool. He has a long history of thwarting Billy/Dr. Horrible's attempts at villainy. He has has superhuman strength and is highly resistant to harm -- so much so that he has never actually felt pain. His narcissism, as well as his history with Billy/Dr. Horrible, causes him to seek Dr. Horrible's death.

Special Win Conditions: In addition to a normal "wins with good" condition, Captain Hammer can only win if Dr. Horrible is dead. The method (lynch or night-kill), the timing (if Dr. Horrible dies after Captain Hammer is already dead) and the alignment (whether Dr. Horrible turns good or evil) do not matter. If good wins, then Dr. Horrible must also have died in order for Captain Hammer to win.

Special Powers: Captain Hammer has the ability to target one player per night. If that player is in the Evil League of Evil, they will be "jailed" (see systems section for details). If that player is Billy/Dr. Horrible, he will die. If that player is Penny, she will die.

The Mayor of New York City

Special Powers: The Mayor of New York City will function as a normal seer.

Other Good Guys

THE GAME: SPECIAL SYSTEMS

Moist, Billy/Dr. Horrible, and Penny Alignment system:

Moist's alignment is with the evil faction. He is aware of who they are, while they are NOT aware of who he is. He can be night-killed by the Evil League of Evil. He has no communication with the evil faction. Moist does NOT need to be killed in order for the good faction to win.

Penny's alignment is with the good faction.

Billy/Dr. Horrible is an undecided neutral who will ultimately side with either good or evil. This determination is made based on the voting and/or deaths of Moist and Penny.

If Moist or Penny die, Billy/Dr. Horrible will default to the opposing side -- if Moist (evil) dies, then Billy has no evil influence and thus becomes Good; if Penny (good) dies, then Dr. Horrible has no good influence and thus becomes Evil.

However, if Moist or Penny's death occurs due to a day lynch AND one was lynched with the other voting for him/her, then Billy/Dr. Horrible swears to avenge the fallen friend -- if Moist (evil) is lynched AND Penny voted for Moist's lynching, then Dr. Horrible swears to avenge Moist's death and thus becomes Evil; if Penny (good) is lynched AND Moist voted for Penny's lynching, then Billy swears to avenge Penny's death and thus becomes Good.

The only scenario under which BOTH characters could die in the same period are if one is lynched, and Dr. Horrible kills the other after aquiring Wonderflonium to arm his Death Ray (see The Wonderflonium system). If this occurs, Dr. Horrible becomes a serial-killer.

Dr. Horrible must be "turned" in order to win -- if he dies before turning good, evil, or serial-killer, he loses.

Dr. Horrible loses his normal seer ability once he is either "turned" (made good, evil, or serial-killer).

If Dr. Horrible is turned evil, he becomes a full-fledged member of the League and must be killed in order for Good to win.

The Wonderflonium system: Dr. Horrible has a 10% chance each night to steal a case of Wonderflonium, allowing him to activate a power ray. They grant the following powers:

Trans-Matter Ray: Ability to buy 3 votes (in total, not per day). As with Professor Normal, he can use multiple vote-buys on a single day if he chooses.
Freeze Ray: Ability to block 3 votes (in total, not per day). Again, he can use multiple vote-freezes on a single day if he chooses.
Death Ray: Ability to kill one person each day; this kill is announced along with that day's lynch. Therefore, the vote of the victim of Dr. Horrible's Death Ray will still count in that day's lynch; further, if Dr. Horrible is lynched, his Death Ray kill would still go through.

This is the order in which Dr. Horrible activates his Rays; his first case of stolen Wonderflonium will only unlock the Trans-Matter ray, his second will unlock the Freeze Ray, and his third will unlock the Death Ray -- he cannot jump straight to the Death Ray.

Dr. Horrible also loses his default seer ability if he activates a power ray. He cannot choose not to activate his first power ray in order to keep his default seer ability.

Captain Hammer's "Jailing" system: As mentioned above, Captain Hammer targets one player per night, and if that player is Dr. Horrible OR Penny, then they are night-killed. However, if that player is a member of the Evil League of Evil (other than than the Leader -- Bad Horse or possibly Fake Thomas Jefferson -- who is immune), then that League member is "jailed."

Jailing lasts 3 day/night cycles, not including the night that Captain Hammer targeted that player; thus, if a League member is jailed on Night 1, they would be jailed for Day/Night 2, Day/Night 3, and Day/Night 4. They would then be unjailed at the start of Day 5.

Jailing is not announced publicly OR privately, so Captain Hammer will not be able to use the information to discern whether he has successfully targeted a League member (and thus use it as a "peek").

If at any time, all remaining members of the League are "jailed," then the game ends and Good wins.

PLEASE READ THESE AGAIN. A SPECIFIC CHANGELOG WAS POSTED AT THE END OF THE SIGNUP THREAD, BUT IT WOULD BE WORTHWHILE TO REREAD THE RULES IN FULL ANYWAY.

ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

No one will receive a Night 0 peek/power usage.

If Billy/Dr. Horrible is converted during night, or hits his 10% nightly rand chance to activate a power ray, his peek for that night still goes through. He stops receiving peeks the following night.

Any vote buys/extra votes/day targets must be submitted to Madtown within 10 minutes after Night has been called in order to be used that day.

Any night actions should be submitted to both Madtown and Iron_Yuppie.

Pretty much the same as you except I'm not currently in school (I will be next semester), I'm done with poker for a while, and I haven't cold turkeyed the internet yet.
