Notes:
Three Kingdoms
Yes, this is a game based on the three kingdoms era, that said, there aren't "three equal factions" or anything. It's still primarily villagers vs. wolves. So, here is how the kingdoms/forces correlate:
Wei = Wolves
Wu = Village
Shu = Village
Other? = ???
So basically it doesn't really matter whether you're from Wu or Shu, aside from for flavour purposes.
Deadposting/Deadchatting
There is an absolute zero tolerance policy for this. Once you die, you can't deadpost (not even a 'gl villa' post), and you can't discuss the game with other dead players/live players/anyone at all. I know this sounds strict, but there may be certain mechanics in place that makes upholding this rule of the utmost. I will be punishing any transgressions severely.
Duels
Every day starting from day 2, there will be duels that
run at 6PM EST. In order to participate in a duel,
before 5PM EST you must bold red '
challenge [playername]' and then also PM me with who you've challenged. You may only challenge one player per day, so choose wisely. If you wish to accept the duel you must bold red '
accept [playername]'s challenge' and also PM me with the relevant info.
Be warned, you can get forced into duels against your will.
I'll probably run a few practice duels on day 1.
The Setup
Rules:
As the more perceptive amongst you may have noticed, in your role PM you received a few 'stats': War, IQ and HP. These are all vital to dueling.
War: A measure of your physical strength/co-ordination/ability
IQ: A measure of your intelligence/cunning
HP: Hit Points
In the duel itself:
You have four different 'attacks': Normal, Strong, Feint and Confusion
Normal: Just your everyday run-of-the-mill hit
Strong: Deals twice as much damage, half as likely to hit - choosing this attack will make you more vulnerable to normal attacks
Feint: Does a little less damage than normal, but you have a 50% chance of your opponents attack not working next turn. You always act second
Confusion: Convince your opponent to hit themselves. You always act first, choosing this attack and failing will make you more vulnerable to all other attacks.
There is a chance of landing a 'critical hit' which does more damage, obviously.
Your War stat is primarily used to calculate normal and strong attacks, your IQ stat is primarily used to calculate feint and confusion attacks.
At any point in the duel you may decide to flee, with a (IQ/2+25)% chance of success, however if you fail you will be cut down from behind and die.
You die when your HP reaches zero (I know, shocking right)
It's a duel of infinite rounds, you either win or you die (or you flee I guess :P ). Each round please PM me your choice of action.
But wait, what if I'm not around?
Never fear my friend. From as early on as now onwards, you can send me a PM with your preferred attack pattern, and it can pretty much be as simple or complex as you wish (eg. Use Strong attack until enemy is <half HP, then use normal, flee when own HP is <20 assuming opponents is still >40 --- eg. Alternate between feint and strong attacks, never flee) etc.
If you don't PM instructions and you're afk the mods will only use normal attacks and you'll flee at <25% HP - so it's important you submit if you anticipate being away. Remember that you can be forced into duels against your will.
Items
There are also some items floating around in the game. These items are Swords, Armour, Scrolls and Horses.
Swords: Will increase your War stat by 3 (unless otherwise stated), swords also increase your chance of performing a critical hit
Armour: Will increase your HP stat by 30 (unless otherwise stated)
Scrolls: Will increase your IQ stat by 3 (unless otherwise stated)
Horses: Will increase the likelihood of you successfully fleeing a duel by 10% (unless otherwise stated)
In general, items are non-transferable. However if you kill someone, you will inherit any items they carried
On Claiming
You may claim your role/powers
You may claim your name
However I advise against it because there are anti-claim mechanisms in place and it may not be pretty. Claim at your own risk
