The Godfather Part I: The Sign-up Thread

EOD: Tentatively 9 p.m. (I could be coerced into moving this forward to 8 p.m. if there is demand for it)

Basically, after making several tortured attempts at creating the perfect Godfather Trilogy mishmash and never being satisfied with it, I scaled back to just make a v+ of the original classic. My intention is to later run a Godfather Part II vanilla, and then perhaps revisit the trilogy mishmash possibility down the road.

If you haven't seen The Godfather, then holy **** fix that leak in your life. It's the greatest thing ever created. But if you don't think that you'll have time to do it before the 15th, just watch this YouTube clip and you’ll be all caught up:



I will publicize the role set ITT well in advance of the start of the game so that you can save me from myself if I’ve blindly made some major error, but right away I can promise that there will be no neutrals, no serial killer, nothing orange. I just want another day or two to mess with it before rolling it out, and in the meantime I wanted to get signups going.

I would encourage you to become the first person to sign up, but DWetzel has inned from the shadows, so…become the second person to sign up. New players are certainly welcome; unouted gimmicks are not.

Nice to have ivers with an eye out; he'll get to the bottom of any mechanical oversights in my role set immediately. Speaking of which, I'm going to briefly look it over here and then might post it before going to bed tonight.

By the way, not that it had anything to do with my modding, but I'm just going to take credit for having the only game that featured an angry villager posting a detailed blame list in the postgame of it after the village fell apart and allowed the last remaining wolf to win.

By all rights, if you see a significant problem with this role set, speak up. If it's more like a preference, you'll probably have to be pretty convincing to get me to change it, since it fits the flavor the way I want it to. But no matter what, I'll be happy to hear any and all criticisms now.

Notes:
*I will succumb and allow a roleblocker to cleanly block another roleblocker 100% of the time…not because I have been convinced to agree that it’s correct, but just because it’s the far more popular method, and because I’m a man of the people.
*Since the angels only fall every other night instead of recurring nightly, there will be no ban on consecutively angeling the same player.
*I will place no claiming restrictions on the game. You can’t reference anything about your PM, but you can claim not only your role but your character name. I have listed out 19 potential vanilla villagers for the game, and I will rand 6 names from the list to give to the wolves as safe characters to claim instead of having them actually get randed out. Since I will actually rand the six instead of hand-selecting them, obviously nobody should think "well yeah obviously THAT one is in"...a major character that happens to be vanilla is as likely to be a cover role as a minor character who is.

you should make it known which characters are assigned to the village power roles if you will allow character claiming, otherwise the wolves will have to guess which char is most appropriate for each PR if they try claiming, and they might flub it.

That makes sense, good call.

what is a contemporaneous double vig?

Both names submitted at once for kills. The deaths will happen simultaneously, so the shooter won't be able to see one reveal before choosing the second target.
