bobo, what do you think of outfielders playing too deep?

i don't know the exact numbers but it seems like about 20 balls drop in front of an outfielder for everyone that drops behind him

There are no outfielders, some guys just happen to stand on different parts of the field and do different things.

Outfielders play too deep. Ken Griffey Jr. because of this was the 2nd most over-rated defensive baseball player of all times. He was actually just average.

Who's first? If you say Ozzie Smith I might forgive you for insulting junior.

Unfortunately because I happens to be a Mets fan I get "you're just jealous" response too much to even discuss this rationally with people. Jeter was at times average to terrible at that position defensively. Great hitter in his prime of course.

What about his intangibles and leadership tho? J/k, I hate him too.

I'm pretty sure everybody knows Jeter's overrated except for Yankee fans. Even I know it, and I don't follow baseball any more.

He seems like a good guy though, to be fair.

I might have a biased view because I live around Yankee fans and New York media. Maybe the rest of the country lol's at Jeter?, idunno.

When baseball stat people start preaching, Jeter is always Exhibit A. Also that Trout deserved MVP instead of Cabrera.

I contend I am an expert judge of character and can tell how good/bad of a person is just by looking at him. I look into Derek's eyes, and I see an a$$hole.

Growing up in St. Pete, I had to deal with the only sell outs of the year being when the Rays played NYY (and, after 2004, BOS). The Trop was filled with screaming 13 year old girls and their mothers who all wanted to be violated by him. Couple that with the fanboys proclaiming him to be the greatest SS who ever lived and you can imagine how fantastic those games were to attend.

It's fitting that a Bobo sheep thread has turned into a baseball discussion. Next up, chess.

Also don't go dissing the Wizard, Tom.

He's in the HOF because he can do backflips.

Ozzie Guillen does not belong in the HOF, agreed. Its one of the more absurd ones. Jeter could at least hit.
