30-man Sheep Royal Rumble 30-man Sheep Royal Rumble

03-29-2017 , 02:54 PM
Below are 30 sheep questions.
The first 30 players to send a submission are the official participants.

When we reach our 30 submissions, a Royal Rumble order will be randed. This is the order you will enter The Ring. This order will not be made public until the reveal. During the reveal, only players who are in The Ring will have their answers shown in Bold Blue. (read: your answers really only count when you're in The Ring)

To win the Royal Rumble, you must be the last player standing in The Ring.

To eliminate someone from The Ring, you must score at least 3x their score on any given question.

An example:
Quote:
Question 10: Name a fruit

Apple - 10

Player 1

Player 2
...
...
Player 10

Banana - 3

Player 11
Player 12
Player 13
Player 13 would be eliminated as there is a player in The Ring (Player 1) who scored more than 3x his score. He would also be eliminated even if there were more people who scored in the 'Apple' grouping. If there were no players in The Ring that scored better than him, Player 13 would be safe.

If there are more players being eliminated than those who scored 3x more (eg. if only Players 1, 12 and 13 were in The Ring), then the participant between 12 and 13 who is eliminated is whoever had the lower score from the previous question while in The Ring. Otherwise, all ties are randed.

If, after question 30, there are more than 1 participants left standing in The Ring, the winner will be the one with the highest average score while in The Ring.

Obviously, your rand position to enter The Ring will play a huge part in determining your success

Entrance themes:

You may, in a separate PM from your submission, submit an Entrance theme in youtube form for your entrance into
The Ring. Upon reveal, you will hear your music and appropriate commentary along the lines of "BAH GAWD, THAT'S STUCKINARUTT'S MUSIC!" before proceeding.

in and have submitted entrance music

so if I give completely garbage answers for q 1-10 and get randed to enter the ring in spot #11, then my garbage answers don't matter whatsoever?
03-29-2017 , 04:34 PM
Correct

In theory, whoever enters at #30 really only needs to Sheep the last question to have a chance of winning.

Will be in tonight.

Great idea. My only suggestion to improve the game would be to have 40 questions instead of 30, because it's very likely there will still be quite a few people in at #30.
03-29-2017 , 05:38 PM
Yea that may be the case
03-29-2017 , 05:46 PM
I know you can't really add more questions, but I'd definitely change this:

to highest overall score.

If question 30 is a mega-sheep like "name a city in France that starts with P", then it will literally be impossible to beat entrant #30. If question 30 is a question that will generate a giant split with a sheep of 3, then entrant #30 has literally zero chance of winning.

I don't mean to piss on your game, btw.

It's a really good idea with some easily fixed flaws.

03-29-2017 , 06:01 PM
Yea I'm down for changing it, but your suggestion kind of defeats the purpose of the higher the entry you rand, the better your chances, no?
03-29-2017 , 06:27 PM
I don't think so. If you draw an early number, you're still at risk for early elimination.
03-29-2017 , 06:28 PM
Also royal rumbles start with both 1 and 2, so I guess there would be one extra question if you go by that logic.
03-29-2017 , 06:30 PM
I don't think so because you would still need to be left standing at the end to win & it's much easier to be standing at the end if you rand late?

I also kind of think instead of randing people out of the competition, using total score to that point as a tiebreaker would be a better idea...
03-29-2017 , 06:30 PM
Yea 1 and 2 would start with Q1. #3 would join on Q2, #4 on Q3 and so forth so #30 would join on Q29.

But yea we can determine winners by total score if there are more than a few left by then

IN

In, I hope in time. Probably not.
03-29-2017 , 07:01 PM
If you run another one of these it would be fun to do it as a time stamped one instead of as a full rand...the faster you enter, the later you go (ties determined by rand), but the question reveal order gets randomized so you can't just focus on the last couple questions & fire something off.
03-29-2017 , 07:06 PM
yea not bad idea. This will be beta rumble
03-29-2017 , 07:35 PM
Total score while in ring to break ties is decent to combat advantage later enterers get from being less likely to be eliminated
03-29-2017 , 07:51 PM
isn't it the opposite? #30 comes in full of energy and is less likely to be eliminated....
03-29-2017 , 07:59 PM
MOMENTUM though. I haven't watched one of these things in like 25 years, but pretty sure the winner usually doesn't come in at the very end.
03-29-2017 , 08:00 PM
Well that's all writing though lol.

While you folks figure out any rule changes, I have 50 questions to answer in another game
03-29-2017 , 08:23 PM
I like this idea. Will be in soon.
