Can someone tell me more about the anti claiming mechanism?

Also

Do we know how many factions there are? Sounds like 3 from what I've read so far.

It usually means the wolf team can get bonuses for knowing stuff about villager roles. So if this was about old movies I might say that "I'm Rick from Casablanca". Then the wolves read that, say hey mod -- he claimed Rick. Then the mod gives them a bonus like an extra kill or a peek or something.

So using your role name to clear yourself = dangerous. It's usually fine to describe your powers. So "I'm a seer and my peeks are xx, yy, zz" is OK.

looking at the roster, there are a ton of really good villagers and very few to none of the usual "zomg, can't ever clear them wolves"
