Points:
Main: Your score is the domestic gross according to the box office chart
Pity: If your movie doesn't make the box office mojo 2012 top 150 list when we tabulate in February, then we'll give it 27,000,000 points as long as it was out for at least 6 weeks in 2012 in at least 500 theaters for 3 of those according to the box office mojo movie page

Bonus:
1. Leader as of 5/24 (after weekly receipts for 5/18-5/24) will get 50,000,000 bonus points; 2nd place at that time will get 27,000,000 bonus points
2. Whomever has the 27th place film (if anyone) will get 27,000,000 bonus points
3. Whomever has the film that makes the least while still charting in the top 150 will get a 27,000,000 bonus point boost
4. Whomever has the latest release in the year that breaks $100,000,000 will get 27,000,000 bonus points; points split if a tie
5. Whomever has the film released prior to 5/22 that makes the most revenue by year end will get 27,000,000 bonus points


This will also be a place for people to see what major films are slated to come out this year, so you should post a writeup with current expected release date (month/season) and who is in it, what's it's about, etc; or at least a link to an info page for it so people can go learn about the movie

OK, I'll take The Hunger Games.

I expect this to be the next big franchise with the departure of Harry Potter and Twilight. It ticks all the right boxes to be a huge success and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see it surpass at least a couple of the big 6 in domestic gross.

Not only that, but being that it's released in March, I think it should be a near lock to win a couple of those bonuses.

Damn should have put the 264 on Twilight.

Hah, didn't expect to get away with TDKR but figured I needed the edge if I did...

I may regret this but Pixar very very rarely misses.

I had never heard of the Hunger Games before but just checked out the synopsis, and Ill be giving it a watch. I expect to be saying that a lot this draft.

Bold prediction: Spidey is going to bomb. (In as much that the movie can bomb. It will not be the uber-success of the first trilogy.)

By the way, I will be going to the theaters for every pick of mine, just to help bolster the numbers.

Twilight is going to make boatloads however, and I really screwed up not putting my points there.

I'll get jiggy with the Will Smith return to the big screen, and take MIB 3.

Look at release dates, they tell more about how a movie will do than many people realize.

That movie has the July 4 opening weekend, has until July 20 until the Dark Knight comes out, and no real competition (as of yet) for that weekend, or the following one.

Plus, Emma Stone is a mega-draw right now.

I know, IM just keeping my fingers crossed that TDK decides to open a week early.

And I know they are expecting a ginormous hit, and they may get a huge first weekend number. But I think it will taper off fast.

Unless Marc Webb surprises us, I have a feeling the movie just wont be as good as Raimi's versions.

Swiitch has to be favourite atm, followed by pwns and nich, then TL.

The Hobbit will only have two weeks to earn money though right?

Obviously it will earn a lot in those two weeks, but does it not have a slight handicap because of this?

Also, if we go off past Bond history, the new Bond being a second round pick is about right.

QoS and Casino Royale both only earned about 160 mil each, which I think makes Bonds 3 a fairly solid second round pick, but not really a distinct advantage.

Nevermind, just saw Nich got Avengers too which makes Bond his fourth round pick, so yeah, he's in good.
