2012 Box Office Prediction Game: ALL CAN PLAY (Deadline 1/19/12)
This is not a draft but rather a prediction and pick'em game with winner determined in early February, 2013 by the actual US Domestic Box Office Gross totals as determined by boxofficemojo.com
To play, simply pm me your entry by 1/19/12 11:59pm eastern time. Someone will then create a spreadsheet and we'll sweat the game in the thread during the year as movies come out.
Step 1 - Pick one 2012 movie from each of the 12 lines below:
hobbit vs twilight
mirror mirror vs snow white
avengers vs spiderman
beauty and the beast 3d vs finding nemo 3d
rise of the guardians vs the lorax
abe lincoln: vampire killer v world war z
one for the money vs hunger games
rise of the guardians vs the lorax
dark shadows vs wrath of the titans
ice age 4 vs madagascar 3 vs brave
halloween 3d vs texas chainsaw massacre 3d
scary movie 5 vs piranha 3dd
Step 2 - Pick 5 more 2012 releases (release date 1/20/12 to 12/31/12) that are NOT named in Steps 1 or 3
Step 3 - Tiebreaker: Domestic Box Office Gross of Dark Knight Rises
Deadline: Jan 19th
We'll use boxofficemojo.com's Domestic Box Office Total for each movie at the end of January 2013, so we count the box office receipts in January 2013 until boxofficemojo.com puts up the receipts for the week that includes January 31st in it.
Winners:
Overall Winner - Person with highest total box office of their 17 movies
Pick'Em Champ - Person with most number of top choices for Step 1
Scout - Person with highest total box office of their 5 Step 2 movies
Marksman - Person whose Step 3 is closest to DKR's gross
Ties in the first 3 categories will be broken by the tiebreaker (DKR gross)
