It's only ever at the start of games for me. Basically I think my normal urge as a villager is to be spazzy and claim wolf and provoke Mets and stuff, but I'm not too in the mood for that and that creates internal conflict and internal conflict results in feeling wolfy

Players get a feel for each other early with banter most of the time to see who feels relaxed and who is posting self consciously (due to being a wolf)

Players leaving overt peeks isn't where it's at these days. That's level 0. We're on some level 500 **** now

People leave subtle peeks so that they stay out of seer contention when wolves go hunting for them

Sometimes it's just a vote or a joke or a thumb up to a player

Someone (cough) could be inadvertently dropping seer cover by insinuating he has a wolf peek on a villager or vice versa

It is a bad thing to do as he will now never be a viable night kill target for the wolves, so that's one less player they have to pick from to hunt the seer

Seer stuff can get complicated and everyone dropping a straight up peek at the start of the game just makes it more likely that villagers will accidentally fake peek wolves v or villagers w and therefore drop seer contention during the night hunts

Not that I've ever cared about seer cover much but hey you learned something
