First off read the OP before posting here. Clearly there is no communication from him. The purpose of this thread isn't to get him to pay me back. I have accepted he won't pay me back. Notice he hasn't shown up to defend himself?

The purpose is to defame his name in the poker community but more importantly to warn future employers who might consider hiring him. Anyone who does a background check will come across this thread. This is a public forum with very strong SEO. That is why people in this thread are repeatedly saying the same thing: TRAVIS TATE IS A SCAMMER.

Again, just to reiterate, there is no "getting my money back." Travis is hiding in his hole and he obviously won't come out of it.

And spending $5,000-$10,000 on a lawyer and possibly going to Tennessee to get an $8000 judgement on Travis Tate seems like a pretty fkn bleak option. Had he shipped the sunday million when he was playing it with 2k in each account that would be a different story..

First of all Travis is a personal friend of mine and has had a very trying year starting with his 2 year old little girl having a illness that causes her to have seizures all the time. he has spent a great amount of time in hospitals and traveling to see doctors and specialists due to this and as you know insurance does not pay for for and travel expenses on these trips... He has also alot of personal problems that he is dealing with. He is a stand up guy and this is a unfortunate situation but i am sure that he by NO means meant for this agreement to end up this way. Cpar i am sure he is ashamed of what has happened and just dont know how to approach or even begin to work it out but i guarantee you this that he will make it right. But before you people jump to conclusions about his life, destroying his life and other things you should also consider there is always more to the story. Travis is a great guy, a great dad and a all around good guy who does anything for anyone he can. Cpar i am not saying you did anything wrong by taking this public that is your choice and i dont know if travis knows about this yet i was going to bring it to his attention but decided not to because i do not want to put anymore stress on them then he already is enduring this year. Im not trying to make a pitty case for him but i personally know what all he has been thru this year and what a good guy he is...

look. all the travis is a good guy stuff you said is basically meaningless. i understand the guy has problems or whatever but he STOLE. not only did he make money on the stake, he stole part of cpars initial investment. and just hasnt talked to him in 2 months.... how is that in any way representative of a "good guy"?

like if he just robbed a store to pay for his travel expenses would that be ok? how is this different? the details are different but the bottom line is still the same.

But he is stealing to help his kid, therefore he is a good guy!!

pretty much this, and didnt c par say in email he had to travis when this thread was going to be created if he wasnt payed. I dont think this came out of left field for travis tate, i personally have no sympathy for the guy.

like i said im not make a pitty party out of it im just stating (facts) that i know of, that is why i said it was cpar choice to go public and that i had nothing to say about that... Travis is a the type of guy that dont want you to think hes making excuse , and i know of all that he told cpar to be true other wise he would not of paid back a penny and just kept the money, it is obvious that something happened that changed the situation. If he flat out screwed him over he would of just kept the money. Regardless when cpar staked him initially travis told me about it and was excited and thankful, since then things changed in his life and i am sure he used some of the money to sustain a living outside of poker (paying bills, traveling expenses, etc.) personal reasons. I am not saying what he did was right by no means but if you have ever had a hard time in your life especially with your own child then you know that it all weighs heavy on you causing you to not be able to work (play poker for a living) there for you have no choice but to use some of that money and hope for the best. Regardless im not here to argue i am just shedding lite on the situation. Cpar if you have ever been through a hard time in your life understand travis is going thru it now and i hope you will find a way to understand that and i know he will pay you back. Maybe not today or tomorrow but he will. Kicking a man while he is down is not the way to go about this. And i promise any of you people who want to belittle this man for something you know nothing about you have no idea what he has been through this year.

his situation sucks in some ways but its honestly irrelevant. It would have been super easy (and still is btw) for him to go to cpar and tell him his problems and explains he wants to work out a payment plan. Im assuming cpar would be 100% privy to this idea. I think thats what most stand up people would do, which is contrary to how travis handled the situation.

honestly, I cannot feel any pity for someone that would steal/scam money off of someone else. I have been in a place where I wondered where I was going to get my next meal. Sure, I was living in an apartment with a warm bed to sleep in, but that was because my friend was lending me money to pay rent. Did I steal/scam someone out of money to eat? No. I pulled what I had to together to eat, often times asking for help from friends and family.

So, basically, Travis Tate of Cookeville, TN has no reason to scam/steal from someone. And your quest to shed light on the situation, in my eyes, is only making it worse.

the situation seems pretty black and white unless theres information that i dont know about. C par emailed him and tryed to get into contact with him constantly and evern warned him a thread like this would come about if the situation wasnt handled.

I think its super unlikely that these things could happen and he is still a stand up guy, were on the internet so its harder to tell. i mean its so freaking easy to set up a payment plan instead of just disappearing.
