I expect you to get looked up here like 90% of the time early in a match. I generally prefer to do this type of line for value early in a match. 80% of "Regs" might decide to quit you after this hand because they have decided that you are not a fish and they don't want to play a high variance match vs. you.

This hand is the story of my life. Was just going to post a similar hand because it's so easy to get super spewy after a 3b OOP, and marginal equity on the flop. I've been struggling with deciding how to proceed in this situation.

It seems the trend is to 3b OOP, and c-bet 50% pot on almost every board (esp. against weak players). Now days, regs seem to be much more likely to call down the flop with any piece (and often call 3 barrels with any piece). I think the line you took makes it easy for the opponent to play well. If they understand board texture well enough, by the river, it's not a terribly difficult call (and for a huge bet). I've made many many mistakes this way. And once this line fails, you're in a terrible spot early in the match....you gave your opponent an easy buy-in, and in my experience they tighten up significantly making it difficult to get any further action from them (or even more aggravating, leave the match).

I have stopped using this line early, and have a much higher percentage of value in my range (top pair or better) when I do use it. So basically I think you have to do this for value, and even though it's scary if you do it on weird boards they wouldn't expect, you'll get very light calls (like in your example).

    Interested to hear more perspectives.

Dont 3bet pre, as played check flop, as played turn barrel is probably best although its important to remember we shouldn't be here in the first place, as played c/f river.

Fo rill? Wow, gotta start checking out this reghunting scene.

The 3 bet pre defies any logic of which I'm aware. So we shouldn't get to the flop this way but even so the cbet is crazy, we have showdown value and an extremely weak draw, why bloat the pot under those conditions? I would be willing to bet money this hand strictly prefers to check fold. Turn bet is a little more reasonable but at this point our bluff quota should be more than filled by better playing draws like QJ with or without a heart, KJ, Ahx etc which don't put us in cringe worthy spots when we improve.

River, fk why not? As long as villain fastplays a good number of his nutted hands prior to the river we should have greater than 50% equity vs his calling range imo.
