I'm mediocre heads-up player, have been recently invited to join a team. Played couple of thousand hands and realized that there is a 5% rake on every pot, without cap.

Wanted to get information on whether that's beatable. Since I was new, I'm just playing on the lower end of tables, namely NL10 and NL25.

The data for about 1.5k+ hands is.

NL10 - paying 22bb/100 rake;
NL25 - paying 18bb/100 rake;

I have a 35% rakeback. Is it worth to continue playing on that site? The field is rather soft, sporting very loose guys, and limpers.

From what I gather most regulars / open-sitters are playing about 45-55 SBVPIP (all raising), folding rest, and about 40 BBVPIP with huge 3B (20+). Do they do that to avoid rake?

Should I continue playing there, or the rake will eventually kill me? I know it's a general question that involves the field, my skills and all else, but as I said, I'm a mediocre winning player.

Since I wanted to move up as fast as possible to NL50, I'm wondering is it worth, given that I will face more competent players.

I am quite sure the rake can kill you faster than the difference of skill between NL25 and NL50.

is there a 5% w/o cap rake at 50nl too? and 100nl? 200nl? how is that going to be any different if so?

i dont get why u'd play on a site like that, esp with only 35% RB. generally the reason to play on sites like this (although this rake is absolutely insane) is because of the soft player pool. but players at 10nl 25nl 50nl are already horrible that there doesnt seem like much point here.

I believe he made some mistake on his calculations. I dont know of any site that charges so much rake. Besides, he said that on NL25 he started to pay 4bb/100 less than on NL10, so there must have some cap.
