I'm new to HU. All honestly I don't think I'm a very good player. But I've been told playing HU is the best way to learn quickly. I play 1/2 live when I can afford it, I tend to just play my cards but have been trying very hard the past few months to step things up a bit. If anyone would like to play HU play money, I started a "home game" thing on PokerStars. Looking for someone to try just as hard in a play money game as they would in real money game, after talk about key hands so forth. If anyone is interested let me know, I'll send you the info.

not rly interested in this, since i dont believe to be the kind of learner that can actually improve in poker without having to take a financial risk, but i would like to see you guys post some hhs/match reviews. gl

I agree. I don't want to knock this whole idea, as it seems like there are a lot of people enjoying it, but do you find that you're really improving / holding yourselves accountable to bad decisions since there's no negative reinforcement? I could see how the idea is appealing, but also how it would limit the amount of growth you could experience. I think it would be better served to agree upon 'stakes played' ahead of time. Then assume a solid, or reasonable winrate. I would use 8bb/100 as a good guideline, but i understand most people in the thread might want to use a lower figure as a higher winrate defeats the purpose of the thread. So maybe use a winrate like 4bb/100 and multiply the winrate by a set number of hands agreed to then ship the winner the total after the hand sample is completed.

I think you would be surprised. After a hundred hands you will forget about it and play as normal. chips are chips are chips.
