I considered checking flop. Still unsure at times when to cbet or not to cbet. Here I think i'm betting most of my two overcard hands. Villain had nitty stats maybe i could check fold. As played the 8 seemed like a good card to barrell on. It seems like his check raise range would be kind of bluff heavy BUT at 2NL turn x/r is usually a big hand, picked up straight draws maybe.

The 8 is a particularly bad card to double barrel, a lot of his hands that called flop have now improved to 2 pair/ pair + sd. Check here and take your free card.

Some sizing questions... is minraising your standard size or just from the btn? I prefer raising slightly bigger (2.5x/3x) from all position, it gives the big blind worse odds and less incentive to call.
Why did you bet 2/3 pot on the flop and 1/2 pot on the turn? If anything it should be the other way around but a good general rule is to maintain the same size throughout the hand.

Only that size preflop on the button. I thought it was common to scale back the bet size a bit on turn and river. Villiain had very nitty stats (i dontt think i noticed this during play).

I wouldn't suggest minraising at this level, too much value to be had from poor players. As far as your notion of reducing turn and river sizings as compared to the pot, this isn't really a general rule, it's dynamic and depends on board texture, villain tendencies, and your perceived range (though I guess this one matters the least at 2nl).

Generally, it's better to fire turn bets when you pick up equity, but as was said, that 8 is going to help villain a decent amount of the time. I'd also suggest checking this flop, you can't get value from anything, and you can't really get any better hands to fold. Better off realizing your equity for free here. A lot of players at this level often over cbet, and usually it works okay since a lot of regs aren't defending enough of their range on the flop, but it's not really something you want to do unless you have some good reads on villain.

Pretty doubtful villain's range contains that many bluffs, turn is an easy fold.

I've never heard that and it doesn't make much sense. If you had 88/9T I can't imagine you'd be scaling back here, you'd want to build the pot up as much as possible. I would bet about half pot on the flop here and if I were to bet the turn then I would bet the same or size up a bit since it's a slightly scarier board and my hand is now slightly more polarised.

As for sizing smaller on the button, I don't really like it. Your main aim when you pen hands from the button is to steal the blinds and minraising gives them more incentive to call. The only position I would vary my raise sizes from is the small blind because I'd be playing the hand from out of posisiton.

Min-open is fine when you know the blinds aren't defending enough and/or fold to cbets too often. I don't think this is a good hand to double barrel with vs a nitty player. When he calls flop he probably has a hand that won't fold to a turn bet, especially not a 1/2 pot bet. If you want hands to double barrel I think you should use 9X hands. They have more equity and they reduce his calling range a little bit more.

Seems like this is a typical hand to check back with in order to realize some equity. Maybe against a nitty player who you know folds two overs and any A-high type hands this is a good flop bet. You can also fold easily when he c/r since you know he's ahead.

    Bad turn to barrel
