I was trying to just extract value out of floats that stab the turn when checked to, counting on good equity even if I'm actually beaten and called.

Its a good move to get callled light by a weak hand like A10 but not believable as a bluff

Thanks, this makes sense. I would in fact check QQ there against this guy OTT (not just on this turn). Betting twice doesn't punish him for float+steal plays.
But raising (and ranges for raising) definitely needs to be ingrained in the picture.
