Re: NL2K River bluff

this isnt a good spot to shove, how much more often is villain really folding to an overbet as opposed to a shove given that he calls light...probably not that much more in order for an overbet to fold out hands like a str8 to the 5. In order for a shove here to be profitable, also disregarding the backdoor flush possibilities villain has an ace so often in his 3 bet flop calling range that once he calls a turn bet, a shove on this river is unlikely to get him to fold the bottom of his likely calling range given how the hand was played out..how often are you 3 betting gutshots for villain to put a 6 or 67 in your range...all in all i think you could have picked a much better spot to overbet...

Re: NL2K River bluff

@ Dreams
flop is not 3bet.

@mjifi
Asking around how other players would react in the situation doesn't mean I don't have an idea how villain is going to react. I haven't spoken to one that would call with an A so far (other than in here) and there would have to be some serious dynamics going on for myself to call here with an A. That said, flushes and 6's makes up a much bigger % of his range than I thought - with the range I gave him flushes are close to 15%. I don't remember the exact percentage for straights but it was enough to make me think a shove here is not profitable.

btw - I never used equilab before. It's a great tool, so thanks! However it would have been nice if it was able to differentiate between 6 high and 5 high straights in the situation here.. do you know if there is a way to do this?

It's not about why you posted, more of an idea, if you don't have certainty shove seems no good here. Of course you could be certain and at the same time would wanna check if you were right by posting it here.

of course T4s is a standard defend. its value rises as we get deeper and we are first to act. i would have no idea what to do with Ax too on the river. what if he valuebets worse?
