I'll open the game:

Call pre-flop

As played flop: check-call flop

As played turn: check-call turn

As played river: I think it's okay to give up. I don't hate all-in either because random nl20 villain might overfold here.

So it's standard flat pre with small suited aces? And offsuit? Sorry for being dumb.

Since you probably 3-bet many hands with aces in them, like ATs+, AJo+, you have a fair number of aces in your 3b range, and need some in your preflop flatting range. In e.g. 6-max, a hand like A3s is in many spots kind of hopeless as a flat against an open, so you have those in your 3b range some of the time. In heads-up, where btn will often open close to 100% of hands, these weak aces (suited and unsuited) usually do just fine as calls.

This statement may have led to one of Spladle's doge memes.

Spoiler:
Still miss that guy.

I think X on river is fine at these stakes villian is likely to call shove w any T or piece of the board, HU at micros are very curious and generally overcall more than they overfold.

I play a good amount of NL20 HU and think that there are a lot of players who would over fold on this river. In fact, i think it's more common than people may think. Not so many out and out calling stations at that stake these days and they really don't seem to think about there range or your range so they could def be folding too often here IMO.

Personally, against most players I would;
flat call pre-flop
check and call the flop
and check-raise the turn.

We can rep many two pair combos, straight, and 33/44. Maybe even 66 if we flat that pre. And, we just picked up a ton of equity. We could easily still have any ace and any 3 if called and have 9 spade nut outs. I would imagine our implied odds for check raising turn and drilling a three on the river would be pretty fantastic. We will also find some cards to bluff jam on the river when we miss, I'd go ahead and ship it on that particular riv if i check called flop, check-raised river.
