NL 50 - Limp-Call preflop and shove after check on a paired board.

Villain plays 57/36/inf (it's the start of the match, had just 16 hands, and it is his second limp/call).

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
Hero ($50.75)
($15.10)

Dealt to Hero A J

calls $0.25, Hero raises to $2.50, calls $2

FLOP ($5) 8 4 4

[color=red]Hero checks, bets $12.60 (AI), Hero ???

Easy Call, easy fold ?
On the flop, should i bet/call, bet/fold ?

I dont think this is a spot to b/f. He ships all his Hits+random Bluffs +Semibluffs over your bet and folds everything worse. If we b/c we are better with c/c because this makes his bluffingrange bigger.
Without reads how aggro he is, it´s a fold but close imho. Meaning a call isn`t bad, but HighVariance and there will come better spots to stack a Fish like this. (he has some random Bluffs and shoves with Ax in his range giving us between 40-50% Equity i think)
Also @50NL i wouldn´t play anyone who buys in below 40bb...

preflop is bad, you're raising way too big for these stack sizes. also lead the flop and call if he shoves, stacks are too shallow to fold AJ high in a limped pot on a paired board. his range is stupid wide and he has a bunch of crappy draws he can shove. also if you cbet you can get called by worse ace high and draws if hes passive, he'll be more likely to play back at you than if you check, etc.

I raise 2 dollars most of the time, but with this player i want to play big pots with big hands early in the match, but you're right.

i call because he represents nothing except air or a draw.
but bet/call is better.

he shows J7o and i win this pot.

I like your line if your'e planning on a check/call, unless your'e planning on like a 2.5 bet/call line (which I like slightly better 'cause it'll force big spew more often than the check). Short stacks who want fold equity = FoS soooooo often that AJ = the nizzles.

Just read reply... yeah, as a rule of thumb the SS looking for massive FE is crap. NH OP.

I'd call here, his range is bare bluffs, flush draws and the occasional 8 or 4. I don't like shoving preflop unless he is a bit shorter.

Exactly my thought.

I don't like bet/folding, we put too much money and we fold the best hand too often.
