Just to clarify for people grimming on stars hu zoom -

Thank you for your email.

Yes you may leave a heads up Zoom table after you play your button. If you leave a heads up Zoom table without paying your big blind it will just increase the likelihood that you will have to pay the big blind the next time you are seated. Over time the number of blinds paid in Zoom will even out.

Please let us know if we can assist you with anything else.

Regards,

Dan

hey guys, i'm curious and want to maybe start switching from 6max to HU (the usual stuff i guess.) i am still not quite ready for the change, but i am already preparing myself. part of that preparation is selecting my site of choice. i would really prefer stars because of the software and i also like the zoom format (i am too lazy to bumhunt lol). but as i took a look at the playerpool right now it seems like there arent that many players playing at all. 50NLz had about 10 in the pool and 100NLz only 3? is it always like this? i mean its saturday evening/night in europe, shouldnt there be a lot of traffic going on? are there other sites with okay-ish software that have bigger playerpools? or is that just how the HU game is?

The group think mentality poker sites are showing now is kind of funny. They are panicked at the decrease in traffic and revenue, but as many do in times of panic, their solutions are only worsening the problem.

HU as it has been rolled out has been flawed for some time, but so long as there were actual depositing players putting money on the site with the specific intention to play it, their goal should be to try to clean it up, not remove it. They are looking for a boogeyman and HU is an easy target for why revenues are declining. HU shows off so clearly the way in which playing online poker has become pretty much just a profession but the problem is that the problems in HU are the symptom, not the disease. The disease continues whether you remove it or not, but when you do remove it, you lose a lot of good customers along the way. The disease continues as online poker is now just a pro fest of people desperately searching out weak players, more and more pro's dropping out because their is so much less money to earn, and the average table becoming increasingly difficult as the pro's that remain are only getting better.

Is there even a list of sites anymore that still offer normal heads up games?

stars.fr also removed their HU since today. Hope they die in a fire caused by electric problems of their spin&go wheel.

Hello guys, I wanted to post this in General Questions Thread, but feel like that is not as active. I just recently started playing HU as well (main game micro 6max) and have trouble making ranges, or should I say that I don't know what to be comfortable with.

If some could look at my 'starting theory' and comment on it, I would appreciate it very much. I have yet to make some strategy assumptions on how to play certain boards when defending and in 3b pots, which I will post later for you to comment.

NOTE: I PLAY MICRO HU, THIS MEANS LIMITS FROM NL5, NL10 TO SOMETIMES NL20!

I just want to know if this is a good start, I've read this also, but it seems old:

HU cash at these stakes is likely not beatable or is beatable for only very small margin. It is decently beatable from 50NL and up, but the sites have taken and will probably continue to take steps to either make HU cash worse or remove completely, so if I were you, I wouldn't bother with HU cash and stick to 6-max. Or if you really-really like heads-up, play HUSNG-s, although it's quite a bit different game and after introduction of Spin & Go 's have taken quite a bit hit aswell and may not have very bright future either.

Well, theres a lot of issues here. I suggest starting with your "call 3bet" range. Thats probably where you are leaking the most. Your calling range should change depending on 3bet size, but in general: dont be afraid of taking a flop with offsuit broadways, suited connectors, and other suited highcard hands, at the least.
