Hope I am posting in the right place BTW.
I have been playing poker for a little while now, some-what unsuccessfully, but that's not why I am posting. I am what I would describe as a student of the game and one day hope to be able to actually turn a profit while playing the game, but I digress.
I am a Maths student and I am currently undertaking a project looking at poker and in particular HU play, mainly because any more than two players is too complicated. I am looking at playing a 'perfect' game (Yes I have read the previous articles on this and am aware of the previous data.) I am not expecting to come to any new conclusions but it is a project that excites me and should be sufficiently complex, yet manageable enough to undertake and allow me to meet all the required parameters.
Anyway to the main point of this post, I was wondering/hoping that you guys would be able to help me out with some preliminary data.
All I need to know is vpip's and pfr's to begin with so I can look at normalised starting ranges. I need to record all my data so if any of you feel like helping me out, please, please, please can you e-mail me:
pokerproject771@gmail.com
You don't need to include any information in the e-mail just simply vpip= and pfr=.
I am hopeful that some of you kind people will find 2 minutes to send this information and help me out with my project. In return when I manage to completely solve HU Poker I promise to share my findings exclusively with twoplustwo.
It would appear that you are trying to do from scratch something that has already been done many times, which is a waste of effort. Read "Applications of No-Limit Holde'm" by Janda (or a similar publication), and proceed only if you think you could manage something beyond that.
On the other hand, refusing to use data from databases and bothering individual people instead (lol) strongly suggests that you are just trolling. You are aware of something called "references" in academic work, right?
